1. Review of teleconference meeting with Michelle Wright (Deputy Supervisor of Administration and
Emergency Preparedness for the Town of Ulysses) and Katie, Janice and Tony on April 28, 2020.
a. ToU communicates info to Town residents through an electronic Newsletter
i. Discussed setting up a ToD email list as another way to disseminate info and also list of
people without internet who would need paper copies
b. ToU Grocery Delivery Task Force
i. Generated a list of vetted volunteers in low risk Covid -19 category willing to shop and
deliver groceries to residents of Ulysses staying at home
1. Vetted volunteers found through word of mouth, recommendations from
community leaders
2. List of residents in need of grocery deliveries compiled from Senior Citizen
Center, Churches, Rotary Club, word of mouth
3. No requests for deliveries have been received yet
c. ToU Economic Recovery Task Force - includes members of Chamber of Commerce
i. Sent out survey to local businesses in ToU to assess needs
ii. Katie suggested if ToD formed such a Task Force its members might be able to help
small businesses complete assistance paperwork
d. ToU has weekly teleconference meetings with Town officials and community leaders
i. Mayor, Town Supervisor, Sheriff, School representative, Police Chief, EMS, Librarian,
Food Pantry representative, Rotary
1. Share needs in Town and eliminate redundancy in efforts
2. Next steps for S&P
a. Christina will contact Bambi about generating a ToD email list for future Newletters and
community announcements
b. Janice will contact Jason about setting up a meeting with Jason, Dan, Bambi, Mike Murphy
and Dave Fogel
i. Discuss current needs in Town and actions to be taken
ii. Discuss potential needs and actions for a second wave of the pandemic
ii. Share info about task forces that ToU has put in place and if they would be
appropriate for ToD
1. Suggest a ToD Agriculture Task Force be established to address
possible food insecurity issues in future - to include farmers and CSA managers
a. Promote planting of Victory Gardens
iii. Discuss the possibility of a regular meeting with Town officials and community
leaders to establish a working relationship
c. Katie will contact Jason about Covid-19 testing (for active infections and presence of
antibodies) in the ToD
