Present: Christina Dravis, Dana Magnuson, Janice Bretscher and Tony Bretscher
Borger Title V Air Permit Application(]
1. Status of meeting of Safety Committee with DEC Air Quality Engineer (Andrew Lofaro)
and technical staff unknown. Janice will email Jason Leifer to ask if he has spoken with
Andrew Lofaro.M
2. Preparation for Public Comment Period. Katie and Stu Berg had offered to begin
preparations on assembling talking points for list sery announcement. Need to check in
with them.
Emergency Preparedness
1. Christina has looked into shelter information available from several sources,
including the Red Cross. There is no updated information and the plan is to
generate a new list.
2. Christina brought up the possibility of forming a CERT (Community Emergency
Response Team/s) in the Town of Dryden. There is information on the FEMA
website about these, and she will share with the committee a link to a free on-
line class. She has also made contact with a person in Binghamton who runs such
a program and is eager to help set one up here.
3. Christina is also assembling a list of possible list servs, news letters, and other
ways to communicate with communities within the Town of Dryden to use for
future Emergency Preparedness announcements, classes, events etc.
4. Christina informed us that there will be a NYS Citizen Preparedness class offered
in Cortland on Dec. 11, 2018. She will send a link to an online training for this
program and also suggested some of us attend the Cortland class. Christina and
Janice are both interested in registering for the class.
There will be no meeting in December, the next meeting will be on January 28, 2019.
