Meetings
with
landowners
Bruno
&
Bob
and
Alice
&
Bob
as
teams,
have
been
making
appointments
and
meeting
with
rail-‐bed
landowners
in
the
Varna
area
to
present
our
plan,
to
sometimes
walk
with
the
owner,
to
hear
concerns,
and
to
leave
the
printed
Easement
Agreement
with
the
owner,
requesting
it
be
signed,
notarized
and
returned
to
us
(for
Town
approval
and
recording
in
the
County
Clerk’s
Office).
We’ve
received
a
very
encouraging
response
so
far:
Five
of
seven
initially
say
yes,
they
will
sign,
with
many
more
meetings
in
the
works.
Other
Bob,
Bruno,
Alice
and
Rick
Young
(of
Dryden
Highway
and
DPW)
have
been
considering
future
trailheads
and
small
parking
areas
at
roadway
intersections.
On
the
west
side
of
Mount
Pleasant
Road
is
one
possibility,
and
Rick
suggested
the
end
of
Hall
Road,
east
of
Route
13,
as
another.
Bruno
brought
a
photo
of
a
trail
bridge
over
a
two-‐lane
road
near
Geneva,
as
a
nice
example
of
a
possibly
low-‐cost,
light-‐weight,
steel-‐truss
design
that
might
be
just
what
we
need
to
span
some
gaps,
like
creeks
and
washouts,
in
our
future
trail.

later
this

With
sufficient

by
Fall,
we
should
be
in
excellent
shape
to
apply
for
and
receive
funding
for

We
have
completed
applications

will
be
valuable
resources
for
writing
a
