Schutt moved to approve the minutes as presented. The motion was seconded by B. Beck and the minutes were unanimously approved. Reports from other Boards and Commissions: Planning Board has not met since the last Conservation Board meeting; no report from the DRYC; B. Beck gave a verbal update on the Rail to Trail Task Force (see below); and C. Schutt provided a verbal update on the Ag Committee. New and Continuing Business: Tompkins County will be holding a Housing Summit. For more information, visit housingtompkins.com There will be a meeting of the four (4) towns that will be affected by the South Hill Recreation Way. The meeting will be held at the Coddington Road Community Center on November 15th from 4-7 PM. Rail Trail Task Force: The Transportation Alternatives grant was submitted to the State on Friday and R. Burger has received notification that it was received. The Task Force is still trying to determine the ownership of the FH Fox bridge. There is the possibility that the bridge is “not owned” by a particular person because it is not associated with any land parcels. D. Weinstein would like Varna to have some input on the final design of the bridge – what is painted on it, ie “Welcome to Varna” or a picture, etc. Natural Resources Conservation Plan (NRCP): Farmland Resources: C. Schutt said D. Teeter (Cornell Cooperative Extension) brought a draft of the Dryden Ag Protection Plan to the Ag Committee’s last meeting. The Committee discussed what maps and pictures they want to added to the draft. C. Schutt is working on the Farmland Resources section of the NRCP and has shared his section with the Ag Committee for comments/review. At the last Conservation Board meeting, the members discussed whether they wanted threats included in each section or as a separate section. C. Schutt included the threats he is aware of and the ones that the Ag Committee recommended within his Farmland Resources section. Biological Resources and Recreational Resources: Conservation Board October 25, 2016 Page 2 of 2 D. Weinstein has a draft for the biological resources that he will share with N. Munkenbeck tomorrow. Enduring Features and Scenic Resources: Due to a variety of reasons, no further work has been done on this section. D. Weinstein agreed he will try to produce a list of maps that would be beneficial to the plan and will talk to R. Burger about their availability. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:09 PM. Respectfully Submitted, Erin A. Bieber Deputy Town Clerk
