for 3 years.

the 3
years
the
town will
pay the nominal
charge of less than
$100.00
a
year
for the
service.
Atty Perkins - NYSE &G is proposing to install a light and pay the
cost for, operating it for 3 years. They are suggesting that this
is a fair and equitable consideration for the town to grant thern
an easement across town property. ' rhere are terms in the easement
which should be crossed out and give them the right to use
chemicals to control vegetation growth and limit this to the
present location. The issue before the beard is to decide if this
. is A fair and equitable consideration.

concerning the length of terra for highway superintendent (copy in
miri,ite book.)
QUESTIONS AND /OR COMMENTS
Clm Walbridge - wanted t9 know if there was any reason for the
change in the length of the term.
Atty Perkins - he was asked to research and prepare a local law.
2 years is set by the state statue and by local law you can
supnrcede state law.
Clm Walbridge - wanted to kn•_.w the length of the terms for other
highway superintendents in the county.
• NOTICE OF INFORMATION MEETING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town Board of the Town of
Dryden, Tompkins County, New York will hold an informational
meeting on a proposal for the Town to grant a pole line easement to
New York State Electric & Gas Corporation over Town property at the
intersection of Sodom Road and Snyder Hill Road in said Town.
Such meeting will be held July 30, 1991. at 7:00 p,n.
prevailing time at the Varna Community Center in said Town at which
time all .interested persons shall be heard.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town Board of the Town of-
Dryden, Tompkins County, New York will hold a public hearing on a
proposed Local Law establishing the term of office of the Highway
Superintendent of the Town to be four (4) years instead of two (2)
years as provided in New York Town Law Section 24.
Said public hearing will be held Tuesday, July 30, 1991 at
7:15 p.m. prevailing time, at the Varna Community Center, Varna in
said Town at which time all persons will be heard.

asked for its adoption:
RESOLVED,
(I) That the Supervisor is authorized and directed to execute
an easement to New York State Electric & Gas Corporation in the
form annexed hereto covering property owned by the Town more
particularly described in a deed dated May 25, 1966 and recorded
May 26, 1966 in L.i.ber 462 of Deeds at Page 941 in the Tompkins
County Clerk's office and known as Town of Dryden Tax Map Parcel
#74-1-8-1.
(2) That it is hereby determined that fair and adequate
consideration for the grant of such easement is the agreement on
behalf of New York State Electric & Gas Corporation to furnish and
install a street light on a pole to be set within the easement and
to provide electricity and maintenance of the same at its expense
for a period of three (3) years following such installation.

asked for its adoption:
RESOLVED,
(I) That the Supervisor is authorized and directed to execute
an easement to New York State Electric & Gas Corporation in the
form annexed hereto covering property owned by the Town more
particularly described in a deed dated May 25, 1966 and recorded
May 26, 1966 in L.i.ber 462 of Deeds at Page 941 in the Tompkins
County Clerk's office and known as Town of Dryden Tax Map Parcel
#74-1-8-1.
(2) That it is hereby determined that fair and adequate
consideration for the grant of such easement is the agreement on
behalf of New York State Electric & Gas Corporation to furnish and
install a street light on a pole to be set within the easement and
to provide electricity and maintenance of the same at its expense
for a period of three (3) years following such installation.
(3) That
it
is a
condition of this resolution that New
York
State Electric
&
Gas
Corporation pay all of the expenses of
the
e Town of Dryden in connection with the granting of such easement,
including the fair and adequate consideration expressed above and
all costs of publication of this resolution.
(4) This resolution is adopted subject to a permissive
referendum as provided in Article 7 of the Town Law.
(5) The Totrn Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
publish and post this resolution as required by Article 7 of said
law,

The purpose and effect of the Local, Law is to supersede
Section 24 of the New York Town Law to provide that the term of
office for the Town of Dryden Highway Super.i.ntendant• shall be Four
(4) years.
The foregoing abstract, together with a proposition herewith
submitted, is prepared by the Town Clerk of the Town of Dryden, New
York, with the advice of the Town Attorney of the Town, pursuant to
Section 25 of the Municipal Home Rule Law of the State of New York.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town Board of the Town of

1991 the following of which is an Abstract thereof:
The Town Supervisor, is authorized to execute an Easement to
New York State Electric and Gas Corporation for a pole line on
property owned by the Town near the intersection of Sodom Road and
Snyder Hill Road. The fair and adequate consideration for the
grant of the easement is the furnishing by New York State Electric
& Gas Corporation of a street :Light for a period of three (3) years
