by Supervisor McCord at 7 : 00 P . M . Present were Supervisor McCord ,
Councilmen Todd , Gridley , Cotterill and Tarr , Zoning Officer Wells and
Attorney Amdur .

Councilman Gridley offered the following resolution and asked its adoption .
RESOLVED that this Board table the appointment of Deputy Supervisor pend -

set in advance and advertised when the Town Board travels to the above
mentioned areas .

Minutes of the Regular Monthly Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of
Dryden held January 12 , - 1970 , at the Town Hall , . commencing . t 7 : 25 P . M .

le Meeting was called to order by Charles G . McCord , Supervisor .
—Supervisor McCord opened the meeting with the Pledge Allegian e to the Flag . 40
Supervisor McCord asked the Town Board if there were any corrections or
additions to the Minutes of the December 10th Board Meeting . Being none ,
the minutes - were approved as sent out .
The first item of business was turned over to Gary A . Lee , fo .mer Super. -
visor r . • of the Town of Dryden . Mr . Lee reported on the water breaks in
Water District No . 1 . There were three breaks in December , 1 . 69 ; the
first break occurred at the Euvard homestead , the second brea4 at the William
Harrison mobile home and the third break at the David Steward obile home .
The water flooded the home of Mr . William Harrison , washed out a huge hole
and destroyed the septic tank and caused a utility pole to tumile to the
ground . Eugene Euvard , owner of the trailer park , visited wit Mr . Lee and
, it was agreed that the hole would be filled in and the trailer moved back as
soon as the weather permits . Mr . Harrisons pipes froze due to the lack of heat
and Mr . Lee instructed him to have it repaired and send the bi 1 to the Town
of Dryden . .
Attorney Amdur reported that she had talked to William Bailey , the Insurance
Agent , and he has reported the claim to the Insurance Company . Attorney
Amdur spoke to Sutfin regarding . a leak early in June 1967 . Tes at that
time showed that the pipes were up to specification . Pat Hanna seems to
think the pipe defective . Every piece has had similar break . . He explain -
ed the breaks being caused by a lack of stress relief in the pi . es .
Mr . Lee further reported that there has been appointed six new County
Committees under the County Charter . The fourth meeting of the month will be
an evening meeting .
Notice of a " dog quarantine " is in effect County wide from Janu . ry 15 to April
15 due to the heavy snow and the dogs bothering deer .
STANDING COMMITTEES
Sanitation and Refuse : Councilman Gridley suggested that a progress
report ( bi - monthly ) on the critical dump situation be given by Dr . Broad .
The Board agreed to bring this to the attention of County C airman
Dates on the development of a county - wide sanation system .
Buildings and Grounds : McCord received a phone tall from
Mrs . Cooper . She had presented a picture to the West Dryde Church in
memory of her two sisters . She wanted the picture back bec . use the
church was to be sold . Supervisor McCord gave her permissisn to re -

move the picture . The Board was in agreement .
TOWN CLERK
Mrs . Stelick reported that the tax notices were due and payable without
penalty as of the 31st of January . State Law does not permit an - xtension
of time even though the bills were late in getting to the propert owners .
Attorney Amdur instructed Mrs . Stelick to place a public notice i1 the
official newspapers and a notice on the Town bulletin board to th s effect .

Councilman Gridley offered the following resolution and asked for its adoption .
RESOLVED that the Sunny Slope Road dedicated by J . Winthrop Brown be designated
as a town road .

RESOLUTION # 43 - WEST DRYDEN RURAL COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION
Councilman Todd offered the following resolution and asked its adoption .
RESOLVED that the offer from the West Dryden Rural Community Association ,
Inc . for the West Dryden Church be accepted in accordance with the
provisions set forth in the attached notice .

Attorney Amdur reported that construction on the Crispell building was

barn ( 2 stalls ) on the road right - of - way on Lower Creek Road . He has
iiibeen notified that he may have to move the barn if the road is widened .
ZONING OFFICER .
A new map was requested because an error had been made on the draft of the
proposed zoning map regarding a piece of land on the outskirts of Varna .
Aft It was originally proposed as a business zone . The land is owned by Kapp
and Bell . A Committee ( McCord , Wells , Cotterill . & H . Amdur ) was selected
to review the map and present it to the Board at the Rebtuary 12th meetin
It was suggested that a public hearing be held after the committee meetin , ': , . ;,, .
The regular monthly meeting in February will be at the Town Hall on
Thursday , February 12 at 7 : 00 P . M .

PLANNING BOARD
Fred Lengemann of the Planning Board has submitted his resignation . There
exists 3 vacancies at the present . Councilman Tarr was appointed as the
Town Representative to the Planning Board by Supervisor McCord to recommend
suggestions of replacement for at least two of the existing vacancies at
the February meeting . It was suggested that Mrs . Hardesty be acting chairman
and hold a meeting . A letter was sent to Mrs . Hardesty regarding the
Instruction Book .
RESOLUTION # 44 - LOWER CREEK ROAD & . UPPER CREEK ROAD
Councilman Todd offered the following resolution and asked its adoption .
RESOLVED that the speed limit be restricted on Lower Creek :& Uriper Creek

Supervisor McCord plans to write a letter to Dr . Crispell regarding the
Egypt Creek Water Shed Project . stating that Dr . Crispell can expect the
Town of Dryden to cooperate and assist in anyway possible .
RESOLUTION # 45 - DEPUTY SUPERVISOR
Supervisor McCord offered the following resolution and asked its adoption .
RESOLVED that this Board appoint Lewis Gridley as Deputy Supervisor for
the year 1970 at a salary of $ 200 . 00 .
