Home My WebLink About1965-05-11 4 May 11 , 1965 The regular monthly meeting of the Dryden Town Board was called to order at 8 : 00 P . M . by Supervisor Gridley . Present : Supervisor Gridley , Councilman Lee , Justice Spaulding , Justice Hoagland , Councilman Benson , Assessor Abrams and Attorney Helen Amdur . Two Fire Contracts were discussed . A representative from Freeville Fire Co . was present and requested a $500 . 00 increase , and thanked Mr . Gridley and Board members for all past support which was greatly appreciated . Mr . William and Mr . Cole from Brooktondale were present also to discuss $ their Contract . They requested a $ 200 . 00 increase . No decisions were made as to what amounts the Town would furnish to these Fire Companies . Correspondence : A letter was read from Mrs . Pat Schultz requesting the installation of a " Caution Children " sign , which would apply to the 1 . 7 mile distance previously surveyed . ( Pine Tree Rd . - Snyder Hill Rd . ) Census : According to the report from the Special Census , taken as of April 14 , 1965 the count was 8175 compared to April 1 , 1960 , which was 7353 . Greater Ithaca Regional Board : A letter was received containing a resolution passed by Greater Regional Planning Board - A resolution in favor of " Pure Waters Program " Clm . Benson offered the following resolution and moved its adoption . RESOLVED , that the Town of Dryden also adopt this resolution which copy is attached to the minutes of this meeting . Seconded by Clm . Lee , all present voting yes . Letter from Curator and Archivist of Cornell University , Edith M . Fox , thanking the Board for Trustee ' s Book , Dist . 3 , which has been placed on deposit in Cornells Collection of Regional History , and will be returned to the Town of Dryden upon request by the Board or -� - authorized representative . Attorney Amdur reported that the Potter Claim was covered by insurance - and had been referred to Bailey Insurance Agency . Resolution # 52 - Luttons Maintance Contract Justice Hoagland offered the following resolution and moved its adoption . RESOLVED , that Resolution # 51 of April 13 , 1965 Board Meeting be rescinded , and be it FURTHER RESOLVED , that Supervisor Gridley be authorized to pay Lutton ' s , semi - annualy , in advance , the amount of $ 119 . 35 for maintanence on office equipment . Seconded by Clm . Benson , Roll call vote , all voting yes . Resolution # 53 - Audit of Highway Claims Justice Hoagland offered the following resolution and moved its adoption . RESOLVED , that Highway Claims totaling $4408 . 36 be paid as audited . Seconded by Clm . Benson , Roll call vote , all voting yes Resolution # 54 -Audit of General Claims 401 Clm . Lee offered the following resolution and moved its adoption . RESOLVED , that General Claims totaling be paid as audited . Seconded by Justice Spaulding , Roll call vote , all voting yes . Resolution # 55 - Insurance Payment Clm . Benson offered the following resolution and moved its adoption . RESOLVED , that the date in Resolution # 41 ( Insurance Coverage by Bailey Agency ) which reads April 20 , 1965 , be changed to JuneUl , 1965 , which would be the due date for all insurance . Seconded by Justice Hoagland , Roll call vote , all voting yes . Resolution # 56 - Abandoned Road Recommended by Supt . Case Justice Hoagland offered the following resolution and moved its adoption .
