The regular monthly meeting of the Dryden Town Board was called to
order by Supervisor Gridley at 8 : 00 P . M . Present were Justice
Hoagland and Justice Spaulding , Councilman Benson and Saltonstall ,
and Assessor Abrams .
Absent : Hwy . Supt . Case
Present were a group from Snyder Hill Road , who presented a petition
containing 38 names requesting that the Town Board consider the
formation of a water district for said area . Resolution attached .
The group was headed by Peter de Wysocke , also present were John
Matthysse , Bob Conley , Lowell Uhler , Paul Dale ,
Present also were Mrs . Jim Cutting , Mrs Russell Prince , and Mrs .
Henry Prince .
Mr . A . K . Fletcher and Mr . Gilman Dedrick were also present .
Mr . Fletcher and Mr . Dedrick questioned Supervisor Gridley and
the Board Members . The questions dealt with placement of lights
at Rtes . 13 - 366 intersection , with pay increases and with the manner
of reporting Town Board activities . After the questioning on pay
increases Dedrick stated that as Chairman of the minority party , he
wanted to go on record " opposing all salary increases , at this time " .
The Board also received a letter from Mr . D . J . Hennigan of Hunt Hill
Rd . , requesting that the Hunt Hill Rd . be improved . The letter was
referred to Highway Superintendent , who will report on the matter in
February .
Letters were received from the State Traffic Commission regarding
the lowering of speed limits on Slaterville Rd . andffiled .
Annual Reports were received by the Board from Justice Hoagland
and Justice Spaulding and placed on file . Also discussed whether
to publishcthe reports .
The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as mailed .
Resolution # 1 - Audit of Highway Claims
Councilman Saltonstall offered the following resolution and moved
its adoption :
RESOLVED , that highway claims totaling $ 9 , 969 . 82
be paid as audited . '

Resolution # 3 - Delegate , Assn . of Towns
Justice Hoagland offered the following resolution and moved its
adoption :
RESOLVED , that Lewis Gridley be appointed delegate to
the Association of Towns Meeting to be held in New York City ,
February 7 - 8 - 9 , and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED , that the expenses of all
elected and appointed officials of Town Board be Paid from the
General Fund of the Town of Dryden .

Resolution # 4 - Service Officer
Clm . Saltonstall offered the following resolution and moved its
adoption :
RESOLVED , that Lewis Gridley be appointed Service
Officer for the year 1965 .

Resolution # 5 - Historian
Cim . Saltonstall offered the following resolution and moved its
adoption .
RESOLVED , that Betsey L . Clark be appointed Town Historian
for the year 1965 .
Seconded by Justice Hoagland . Carried
Resolution # 6 - Mileage
Justice Hoagland offered the following resolution and moved its
adoption .
RESOLVED , that mileage paid tb Town Officials including
election inspectors , shall be at the rate of 8c per mile , when using their
own cars for Town purposes .
Seconded by Justice Spaulding . Roll call vote . all voting yes .
Resolution # 7 - Gasoline Purchase
Clm . Benson offered the following resolution and moved its adoption .
RESOLVED , that the Town of :;_Ddyden accept state price
for gasoline to be purchased for use in Town equipment .
Seconded by Justice Hoagland . Carried
Resolution # 8 - Pipe & Culvert Purchases
Justice Spaulding offered the following resolution and moved its
adoption .
RESOLVED , that the Town of Dryden accept State price
for pipe and culvert purchased for Town highway purposes .

Resolution # 9 - Tires Purchase

Justice Hoagland offered the following resolution and moved its adoption .
RESOLVED , that the Town of Dryden accept State Price for
tires to be purchased for Town Vehicles .

Resolution # 10- Salary Schedule
Clm . Benson offered the following resolution and moved its adoption .
RESOLVED , that the salaries of Town Officials be set
as follows , for the year 1965 , budget .

Resolution # 11 - Salary Payment
Justice Spaulding offered the following resolution and moved its
adoption .
RESOLVED , that the salaries of the elective and appoin-
tive officials of the Town of Dryden be paid at the end of each month ,
with the exception of the Councilmen , who shall be paid at the end
of each three months , and the Town Historian , who shall be paid
annually . This resolution is not intended to include the Highway
Superintendent , who shall be paid from funds raised for highway
purposes .
Seconded by Clm . Benson . Roll call vote , all voting yes .
Resolution # 1* - Southworth Library
Cim . Saltonstall offered the following resolution and moved its
adoption .
RESOLVED , that the Supervisor be , and he hereby is ,
authorized and directed to pay said sum to the Southworth Library
upon receiptof a certified claimtherefor .
Seconded by Justice Spaulding , Roll call vote , all voting yes .

Resolution # la- Fire Contracts
Clm . Benson offered the following resolution and moved its adoption .
Whereas , there has been appropriated a sum of $8600 . 00
in the 1965 budget for the purpose of paying fire contracts ,
RESOLVED , that the same be paid to the respective fire departments
when funds are available .
Seconded by Clm . Saltonstall . Roll call vote , all voting yes .
Resolution # 14 - Highway Salaries
Justice Hoagland offered the following resolution and moved its
adoption .
RESOLVED , that highway department employees be paid as
recommended by the Highway Superintendent , within a range not to
exceed $ 2 . 30 per hour .
Seconded by Clm . Saltonstall . Roll call vote , all voting yes .

Justice Spaulding offered the following resolution and moved its

RESOLVED , that telephone tolls incurred by the Justice
of the Peace , that are necessary for the conduct of their legal
business , be a Town charge when certified .

RESOLVED , that if.the Justice need service of a secretary
in the conduct of their legal business it be a Town charge when

30 , 1965 for the purpose of acting on Resolution for
Town Highway Machinery Purchase .

WHEREAS , the Town Superintendent of Highways have recommended the
purchase of two 1965 Brockway , dump trucks , ' pursuant Ito the provisions of .
Section 142 ; of the. Highway Law .
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED , that pursuant to Section 142 of the
Highway Law , the Town Superintendent of Highways be and he hereby is authorize .
to purchase from Brockway Motor Trucks of Cortland , New York , vendor , in
accordance with the provisions of the General Municipal Law , with the approval
of the County Superintendent of Highways , ;thefol.lowin; equipment : Two . 1965

Brockway Dump trucks , with equipment asspecified , for a maximum price of

$ 31 , 900 . 00 , delivered at Dryden , New York , and to be . delivered on or about

The terms of payment will be as •follows : $ 381500; 00 to be paid
frra : the . townts Machinery Fund and the sum of $ 28 , 750 . 00 to be paid for by
the issuance of Serial Bonds in 1965 in said amount , making a total of $ 31 , 900 00 .
A ` contract dor the purchase of said Brockway trucks shall be executed
between the Town Superintendent of Highways and the vendor , and when duly
approved by the County Superintendent of Highways , shall become effective .
When such contract has been duly . executed and approved , the Supervisor
is authorized to complete such purchase upon delivery of the trucks in accorda ce
with the terms of the 'contraa t and to pay for the above amount specified by
checks drawn on the Machinery Fund in the amount of $3 ,. 15 0 . 00 , and by a check
ti in the amount of $ 28 , 750 . 00 drawn from the account established from lithe
. proceeds of Obligations to be issued pursuant to the Local Finance Law to
finance such purchase . Such obligations will . be authorized to be issued by
this baard, by. a separate resolution.
