The regular monthly meeting of the Dryden Town Board wa s held
at 7 : 30 P . M . , November 5 , 1964 . Present were Supervisor Gridley , Justices
I $ .glad and Spaulding , Councilman Saltonstall and Superintendent of
Highway Case and Assessor Abrams . Councilman ueen_s'onswls absent.
The minutes of the last meeting were approved .
The public hearing on the preliminary budget was called at 7 : 30P . M .
After a short discussion of the budget , Justice Hoagland offered the
following resolution and asked its adoption :
, RESOLUTION NO . 103 . A& option of Annual Budget .
- WTHEREAS , ITGhis Town Board has met at the time and place specified
in the notice of public hearing on the preliminary budget
and heard all persons desiring to be heard thereon ;
Now therefore be it .
S • RESOLVED , that this Town Board ao. es: _herebyladopt :- suehdppel ±minary
budget as originally compiled , as the annual budget of
this Town for the fiscal year beginning on the first
day of January , 1965 , and that such budget as so adopted
be entered in detail in the minutes of theproceedings
of this Town Board , and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED , that the Town Clerk of this Town shall prepare
and certify , in duplicate , copies of said annual budget .
as adopted by this Town Board , together with the
estimates , if any , adopted pursuant to section 202a , subd .
2 , of the Town Law , and deliver one copy thereof to
the Supervisor of this Town to be presented by him
to the Board of Supervisors of this County .

RESOLUTION N . 104 Audit of General Bills .
Clm . Saltonstall offerced the following resolution and moved its
adoption ,
RESOLVED , that the general bills totaling ;53213 . 36 be paid '
as audited . Se conded by Justice Spaulding .
Roll call vote , all voting yes .
RESOLUTION NO . 105 . Audit of Highway bills .
• Justice Hoagland offered the following resolution and moved its
adoption ,
RESOLVED , that the highway bills totaling * 11 , 010 . 19 be
paid as audited . Seconded by Clm . Saltonstall

RESOLUTION No . 106 Youth Project .
Justice Hoagland offered the following ras'olutidn _and :moved . its
adoption ,
RESOLVED , that the Town of Dryden does hereby sponsor
three . Youth Recreational projects as approved
by the New York State Youth Commission , as
requested by Bethel Grove Community House ,

RESOLUTION No . 107 Rt . 13 and 366 intersection .
Cl . Saltonstall offered the followoing re : solution and moved its
adoption ,
RESOLVED , that Supervisor Gridley be authorized to pursue
for the Electric and Gas Company the hazardous
situation at the intersection of Rt . 13 and
366 , also entrance and exit to Electric and
Gas Corpation .
This resolution was seconded . by JusticeSpaulding and carried .
RESOLUTION NO . 108 Supply of water to Etna area
and Varna area .
Clm . Saltonstall offered the following resolution and moved its
adoption ,
Resolved , that Supervisor Gridley be authorized to contact
the Town of Ithaca , regarding the possibility of
obtaining water for the residents of Etna and
Hanshaw roads ; also to contact the proper authorities
at Cornell for prospect of obtaining water for the
Varna area .
Resolution seconded. by Justice Spaulding , Carried .
RESOLUTION NO . 109 . Appointment of Town Clerk .
• Cim . Saltonstall offered the following resolution and moved its

adoption ,
Resolved , that Leona Fortner be appointed Town Clerk at
the salary as stated in the budget to fill the 1. . rxn
unexpired term of Jane Korbas , resigned .
Justice Hoagland seconded . the resolution and it was carried .
RESOLUTION NO . 110 . Fire Insurance Districts .
Justice Hoagland offered the following resolution and moved its
adoption ,
Whereas , the Supervisor has .received . from the New York I .._ i-• u
Insurance Department the sum of $ 271 . 49 and
Whereas , said sum is to be distributed among the fire
companies thatccontract with the Town ' of Dryden ,
Be it resolved , that the sum of $ 271 . 4 be equitably
distributed among the six contracting fire
companies and / or districts as follows :

A communication was read from Attorney Williamson , regarding the
suit of Stage vs . Town of Dryden , enclosing Dr . Farrows bill in
the amount of $ 5 . 00 .
Moved by Justice Hoagland , seconded by Cim . Saltonstall , that on
✓ eceipt of bill on town bill form this $ 5 . 00 fee be paid . Carried .
A communication was read from the Bureau of Census re -
garding receipt of check for the special census , and also they
w ould make further arrangements for the census on receipt of maps .
A communication was read from the family of Mrs . Minnie
Ranning expressing their appreciation of sympathy , for . flowers sent .
Mgntion was made of the suit pending of Louise Potter vs
Town of Dryden regarding a tree , supposedly on Mrs . Potter ' s
property ; which was cut down by the Highway department . This
matter was referred to Attorney Williamson . Supervisor Gridley
✓ eported that he had obtained the services of Gordon Rice to surveil,
the Freese Road at the point wher e it intersects route 13
in Varna .
Super intendent of Highway Case gave the following
. report on the work accomplished on the following town roads ,
covered with stone and oil in 1964 :
