Public hearing regarding preliminary budget was called at 8 p . m . as
advertised . Present were Justices Hoagland and Spaulding , Clm . Salton-
stall , Supervisor Gridley , Hwy . Supt . Case , and five interested persons .
Absent : Clm . Baker .
Sup . Gridley reviewed the proposed budget and discussed same . Mr .
Charles Downey was heard regarding the work of custodians of the voting
machines , and the fact that increased time to be spent on the work
may warrant higher salary . Others were heard re : work for the Ferguson
Road . The budget hearing was closed at 9 p . m .
The regular monthly meeting was called to order at 9 p . m . by Supervisor
Gridley . .
Clm . Saltonstall pffered the following resolution and moved its
' ' adoption :
WHEREAS , This Town Board has met at the time and place specified
in the notice of :public hearing on the preliminary budget hand heard
all persons desiring to be heard thereon ; Now therefore be it
RESOLVED , that this Town Board does hereby adopt such preliminary
budget as originally compiled , as the annual budget of this Town for
the fiscal year beginning on the first day of January , 1964 , and that
such budget as so adopted be entered*; in detail in the minutes of the
proceedings of this Town Board , and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED , that the Town Clerk of this Town shall pre -
pare and certify ,; in duplicate , copies of said annual budget as adopted
by this Town Board , together with the estimates , if any , adopted pure .;.
suant to section 202a , subd . 2 , of the Town Law , and deliver one copy
thereof to the Supervisor of this Town to be presented by him to the
Board of Supervisors of this County . -
Resolution seconded by Justice Hoagland . All present voting YES .
Absent : Clm . Baker . '
Moved by Blm . Saltonstall , seconded by Justice Spaulding , that minutes
as mailed be accepted . Carried and so ordered .
Moved by Clm . Saltonstall , seconded by Justice Hoagland that Highway
bills totaling $ 10 , 257 . 76 and General bills totaling $ 3129 . 06 be paid
as audited . Roll call vote , all present voting YES . Absent : Baker .
Moved by Clm . Saltonstall , seconded by Justice Hoagland , that the
resolution adopted October 5th setting salary for custodians be with-
drawn . Carried and so ordered .
Moved by Clm . Saltonstall , seconded by Justice Hoagland , that the
custodians receive a salary of $ 140 . 00 each for the current year .
Roll call vote , all present voting YES . Absent : Clm . Baker .
Moved by Justice Hoagland , seconded by Clm . Saltonstall , that a check
writer be bought at a cost not to exceed $ 100 . 00 with trade in .
Carried and so ordered .

Clm . Saltonstall offered the following resolution and moved its adop -
t ' on :
RESOLVED , That the Dryden Town Board does hereby sponsor three
Youth Recreational projects as approved by the N . Y . State Youth
Commission , as requested by Bethel Grove Community Home , Varna Commu-
nity Association , and Ellis Hollow Community . Resolution seconded
by Justice Hoagland . Roll call vote , all present voting YES .
Absent : Clm . Baker .
Moved by Justice Spaulding , seconded by Clm . Saltonstall , that the
sum of $ 15 , 000 . 00 be transferred from Highway - Special Improvement
to Highway - General Repair . Roll call vote , all present voting YES .
Absent : Clm . Baker .
Clm . Saltonstall offered the following resolution and moved its adop -
tion :
BE IT RESOLVED that the North George Road be used as a detour
if and when Creek Road is under construction .
Resolution seconded by Justice Spaulding : Roll call vote , all
present voting YES : Absent : Clm . Baker .

A fall road tour was set for 9 a . m . Saturday , Nov . 16th .
Letter from Harry Burlingame re : abandoned road on Roy Sander-
son property ( Trish Settlement Rd . ) was read and placed on file .
Letter from N . Y . Federation of Official Planning Organizations
was read - with certificates for H . Emmons Ogden and Mrs . L . B .
Hardesty in recognition of their attendance at the Annual
Planning School .
Moved by Justice Hoagland , seconded by Justice Spaulding , that
Clm . Saltonstall act as a committee of one to present the certi -
f icates to Mr . Ogden and Mrs . Hardesty with the compliment 's of
the Town Board . Carried and so ordered .
Letter from lttyManley Thaler re : Dryden ' s claim on the 1961
equalization rate was read for information .
Letter from N . Y . State Dept . of Health cnowledging receipt of
application for comprehensive sewer study was read .
Moved by Clm . Saltonstall , seconded by Justice Spaulding , that
Walter Westfall be appointed dog enumerator for the current
year . Carried and so ordered .
The next monthly meeting was set for Tuesday , December 10th at
8 p . m .
Moved by Clm . Saltonstall , seconded by Justice Hoagland , that
the meeting be adjourned . Carried and so ordered .
