July 5 , 1962
The regular monthly meeting of the Dryden Town Board was called
to order at 8 p . m . by Supervisor Gridley . Present were Justices
Hoagland and Spaulding , Councilmen Baker and Saltonstall ,
Hwy . Supt . Case , and Assessor Abrams .
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved . _
Moved by Clm . Saltonstall , seconded by Justice Spaulding , that
General bills totaling $ 368 . 27 be paid as audited . Roll call
vote , all voting YES .
M&zed by Clm . Baker , seconded by Justice Hoagland , that highway
bills totaling $ 7001 . 68 be paid as audited . Roll call vote ,
all voting YES . .
Moved by Clm . Saltonstall , seconded by Justice Spaulding , that
that section of the Freese Road from route 13 to the curve be
placed on the plan for special improvement ; and that that section
of Mt . Pleasant Road , from Route 13 to the railroad be placed on
the plan for special improvement at a cost of approximately
$ 1600 . 00 . Roll call vote , all voting YES .
Moved by Clm . Baker , seconded by Justice Spaulding , to place on
the " C " project for special improvement that the base be put on
Zeman Road , a distance of approximately one mile , at a cost of
approximately $ 4500 . 00 , when funds are available . Roll call vote ,
all voting YES .
Letter from Mrs . Hugh Holley regarding Mo� nkey Run Road was read
and placed on file . It was agreed that itim Supervisor Gridley
see Mrs . Holley about the matter .
Moved by Clm . Baker , seconded by Clm . Saltonstall , that Assessor
Abrams be enabled to attend seminar for assessors , to be held at
Cornell University July 16 through 20 . Motion carried and so
ordered .
Assessor Abrams reported on completion of the assessment roll ,
and plans for Grievance Day to be held July 10th from 10 am
to 2 p . m . Discussion of assessment problems included possibility
of county wide reappraisal and the use of tax maps .
The Town Clerk was instructed to advise Atty . Williamson as
temporary junk yard licenses expire , and request that he initiate
action as provided in junk yard ordinance .
The next regular meeting will be Friday , August 3rd .
Moved by Clm . Baker_ , seconded by Justice Hoagland , that the meeting

journed at 10 : 15 p . m .

Clm . Saltonstall reviewed the meetings held jointly with the
Planning Board , one with Dr . Broad and Mr . Liguori of the Tompkins
County Health Department , and the other with Mr . Richard Patrick
of the N . Y . StateLDep:arhment of Commerce . Discussion followed ,
regarding matters of planning , with particular reference to future
water and sewage problems ; potential areas of development ; and maps
to be used by the Planning Board .
The next regular meeting will be July 5th .
Hwy Supt Case reported on completion of work on Upper Creek Road
during May .
Moved by Justice Hoagland , seconded by Clm . Saltonstall , that the
'meeting be adjourned . Motion carried and so ordered .
