July 6 , 1954 .
The regular monthly meeting of the Dryden Town Board was held at
the Town Office Building on July 6 , 1954 at 7 : 30 P . M .
Present were Supervisor Downey , Supt . of Highway , Beach and
Justices Baker , Spaulding , Shaw and Whitford . Supervisor Downey
presided .
The minutes of the June meeting were read for information .
Supervisor Downey reported that as yet he had not inspected
the junk yards inthe Town , nor had he been successful in purchas -
ing one of the old historical books of . the Town of Dryden .
Moved by Justice Spaulding , seconded by Justice Shaw , that
the General Bills , totaling 4375 . 52 , and the Youth Project Bills
of $ 92 . 32 , be paid as audited . Roll call vote Taken , all voting Yes .
Moved by Justice Whitford , seconded by Justice Baker , that the
Highway Bills , totaling # 1190 . 93 , be paid as audited . Roll call
vote taken , all justices voting Yes .
Miss St ella Trapp was present and reported on her work of
compiling the Town Scrap Book , and she said that she expected to
complete them shortly , and place one book in the Southworth Lib-
rary and the other one in the Town Clerk 's Office . Supervisor Downey
thanked Miss . Trapp for the time she had given , free gratis , in
compiling these books , and also spoke of the great interest that
she showed in town government . 'Justice Whitford asked to have Miss .
Trapp ' s picture placed in the front of the books ; also one of the
Town Historian , Betsey Clark ; and of the Town Clerk , Leona Fortner .
Mrs . Clark brought the two historian ' s books before the Town
Board for their inspection ; also any suggestions they might care
to offer . The books are now at the Town Office Building for the
use of the public , but are not to ' be taken from the building .
Supervisor Downey commended. Mrs . Clark for her excellent work as
Historian .
The resignations of Alice Niemi and Helen Cross as Inspectors
of Election were read . Moved by Justice Whitford , seconded by
Justice Spaulding , i- that these resignations be accepted . Motion
carried and so ordered .
An application from Mrs . Cora Reagin , asking to serve as
Inspector of Election in District No . 4 , was read . Moved by
Justice Baker , seconded -by= Z'stlfl by Justice Spaulding , that
Cora Reagin be appointed as Election- Inspector in District
158
No . 4 , . .. Carried and so ordered .
A report for the month of June by George Guest , Multiple Dwelling '
Inspector , was read .
Moved by Justice Whitford , seconded by Justice Shaw , that 700 . 00

be taken from the unexpended balance and set up for ' Multiple
Dwelling Budget Item . Roll call vote , all justices voting Yes .
Supervisor Downey reported that $ 4024 . 13 , state aid for highways
had been received from the County Treasurer .
The condition of the ceiling in the West Dryden. Church was dis -
cussed by the Board , and Supervisor Downey appointed Justice

Baker to see to having it repaired .
The approval of the highway road building project for 1955
was read and placed on file .
Moved by Justice Whitford ; seconded by Justice Spaulding , that
the Supt . of Highways , Beach purchase a vibratinsc screen for the stone
crusher . Roll ed-il vote , all voting Yes .
August 3rd was set for the next board meeting night .
