March 3 , 1952
The regular meeting of the Town Board of Dryden was held on
Monday , March 3. at 7 : 30 P . M . at the Town Clerk ' s Office in Dryden .
- Present were Supervisor Downey , Highway Supt . Stacy Beach and
Justices Whitford , Shaw and Baker . Supervisor Downey presided .
Minutes of the last meeting were read for information .
Mr . Carter of the Natural Gas Company presented to the Board
an application to improve the road from the Turkey Hill road
to the Ringwood Corner . The improvements for the Ellis Hollow
Creek Road will be considered .
Moved by Justice Shaw and seconded by Justice Baker that the
general bills totalling 123 . 50 plus the Etna Community and Bethel
Grove projects totaling 40 . 32 be paid as audited . Carried by a
roll call vote with all Justices voting Yes :

Moved by Justice Whitford and seconded by Justice Baker that
the Highway bills totaling 4917 . 56 be paid as audited . Carried
by a roll call vote with all Justices voting Yes .
Communication from the Brooktondale Fire Company was read .
The communication suggested that a reservoir be build for fire
protection .
Moved by Justice Whitford and seconded by Justice Baker that
Mr . Shaw be a committee of one to investigate the matter .
The petition for Hibbards Corners to be a polling place for
a new voting district was presented .
The Town Clerk was instructed to write to Mrs . Post telling
her that the - matterT has7been putt in the % hands ofothe Township
Chairmen of the major parties , Mr . Stewart Williams and Mr .
CliffordWooley for study .
The roof on the West Dryden Church has been leaking . Mr . Baker
found that the roof was not properly lapped but with community labor
it could be repaired . .
Moved by Justice Whitford and seconded by Justice Shaw that Justice
• Baker act as committee of one to investigate the project . Motion carried .
Moved by Justice Shaw and seconded by Justice Baker that Supervisor
be authorized to purchase the lot near the West Dryden Church for 460 .
A roll call vote was taken with all Justices voting Yes .
Moved by Justice Baker and seconded by Justice Shaw that the
Spring road tour beset for March 29 at 9 o ' clock . Motion carried .
Moved by Justice Whitford and seconded by Justte Baker that the
• Supervisor investigate the Varna Hall for needed repairs in the building
and to report at the next meeting .
. Moved by Justice Shaw and seconded by Justice Whitford that there
should be a complete survey of tools , equipment and buildings by the
Farm Bureau Insurance Co . Motion carried .

Justice Whitford moved and seconded by Justice Shaw that $500
be set aside .for Stacy Beach for highway expenses . Roll call vote
was taken with all Justices voting Yes . .
Motion made and carried to adjourn .

Special Meeting , March 29 , 1952
A special meeting was called after the road tour at
11 : 30 A . M .
•
Present were Supervisor Downey , Superintendent Beach
and Justices . Whitford , Spaulding , Baker and Shaw and
County Superintended John Miller .
Moved by Justices Spaulding and seconded by Justioe3
Shaw that the attached agreements for highway which were
made and duly signed be expended in 1952 . Six Thousand
dollars for top on Snyder Hill Road . Carried and so
ordered .

adjourned .
