The Regular monthly meeting of the Town Board of the
Town of Dryden was held on August 3 , 1951 at 7 : 30 P . M . .
Present were Supervisor Charles Downey , Hwy . Supt .
Stacy Beach and' Justices Alvord Baker , Ara Johnson , Harry Spaulding
and Dewey Whitford . Supervisor Downey presiding .
The minutes of the July 2nd . meeting were read for
information only . .
Moved by Justice Spaulding and seconded by Justice
Baker that the General bills totaling 4j 191 . 80 plus the Etna , Varna
and Bethel Grove Youthaproject bills totaling 4 158 . 20 be paid as
audited . Carried by a roll call vote . All Justices voting Yes .
Moved by Justice Whitford and seconded by Justice
Johnson that the Highway bills totaling # 594 . 79 be paid as audited . I ^
Carried by a roll call vote . All Justices voting Yes .
Moved by Justice Whitford and seconded by Justice Johns
son that the Insurance on the Town of Dryden Hall at Varna be trans -
ferred from the present Company to the Dryden - Groton Co- op . Ins .
Company . Carried: by a roll call vote . Whitford- Yes ; Johnson - Yes ;
Spaulding - Yes ; Baker - No . '

Baker that the following Polling Places for the Town of Dryden be
designated for the coming Year . •

Dist . No . 3 Village Hall - Dryden
D ist . No . 4 West Dryden Church
Dist . No . 5 Town Off . Bldg . - Dryden
D ist . No . 6 Village Hall - Freeville

The following additional names were submitted and
accepted to act on the Citizens Advisory Committee oniHighways

Moved by Justice Johnson and seconded by Justice
Whitford that #300 . be transferred from the unexpended fund to the 0
Contigent Fund and 4 200 . form unexpended to the Advertising fund . •

Spaulding thatthe Town Board of the Town of Dryden wilt _ hold a ' Public
Hearing on the proosition that said Town grant a franchise to the
N . Y . State Elec . and Gas Corp . for Gas distribution ; on Aug . 20 , 1951
at 8 o ' clock in the evening . Carried by a roll call vote . All Yes .
Moved by Justice Whitford and - seconded by Justice
Baker that the Town - Clerk write a 11 Thank you " letter to Huntington
Gardens for the Flower plants given to the Town for the flower beds .
The next regular monthly meeting on • Sept . 5th at 7 : 30
. Minutes of this meeing were . read and approved .
On motion by Justices Whitford and Johnson the meeting
was adjourned .

8 : 00 P . M . .
P resent were Supervisor Charles Downey and Justices
Alvord Baker , Ara Johnson and Francis Shaw . and Dewey Whitford .
P resent also were Mr and. Mrs Harvey Carver , Mrs Ara
Johnson and William Beck of Freeville , N . Y .
P ublic Hearing closed at 9 : 00 P . M . and Justice Johnson

moved the attached Resolution and asked its adoption, seconded by
Justice Shaw .
Carried by a roll Call vote , All Justices voting Yes .

that the meeting be adjourned . Carried .
