MARCH. 5;, 1951
The regular monthly meeting of the Town Board of
the Town of Dryden was held on March 5 , 1951 at 7 : 30 P . M .
Present were Supervisor Charles Downey and Justices
Harry Spaulding , Alvord Baker ; Ara Johnson , Dewey Whitford and
Francis Shaw . ' Supervisor Downey presiding .
The minutes of the Feb . 5th . meeting were read
for information .
Ten Residents of Ellis Hollow andninterested
persons were present to discuss with the Board , the condition of
the Ellis Hollow Cemetery and ask what help the Town could
legally give for the repair and up-keep of said Cemetery . This
will be ' cleared with an Attorney and the interested persons
notified .
The Board ' of Assessors of the Town:, William Strong ,
Harold ' Clough and Ralph Dellow were - present to discuss the
equalization of Assessments with the Board .
Moved by Justice Spauldingand seconded by Justice
" Shaw ' that the General bills totaling # 897 . 21 plus the Bethel
Grove and Etna Youth project bills totaling # 142 . 55 be paid as
audited. Carried by a roll call vote . All Justices voting Yes .
Moved by Justice Whitford and seconded • by Justice
Johnson that the Highway bills totaling # 1 ', 313 . 17 be paid as
audited . Carried by a roll call vote . All Justices voting Yes .
Moved by Justice Whitford and seconded by Justice
Spaulding that Supervisor Downey be appointed Welfare Service
Officer for the Town of Dryden for the Year 1951 . Carried and
so ordered .
Moved by Justice Spaulding and seconded by Justice
Baker that # 50 . 00 be transfered from Contingent Fund to the
Budget Item for Civilian Defense , for Stationery and Postage for
the Civilian Defense Officers . Carried and so ordered .

The Town Board wishes to express their appreciation
to the residents of the Town for the co- operation and interest
they have shown in keeping the Town Disposal as it• should be
kept in accordance with the State Health Law .
The Town Board set March 10th . at 9 : 00 A . M . as the
day for the Spring road tour , this day subject to weather
conditions .
The next regular monthly meeting will be held on
April 2nd . at 7 : 30 P .M ..
The . minutes of this meeting were read and approved .
On motion the meeting adjourned .

SPECIAL MEETING
MARCH` 16 , 1951
AAspecial meeting was called at 11 : 00 A . M . . at the -
completion
of the Spring road tour on March 16th . The road tour having been
posponed from - March 10th . because of bad weather .
Present were Supervisor Charles Downey , Hwy . Supt . Stacy
Beach and Justices Harry Spaulding, Alvord Baker , Ara Johnson and
Francis Shaw . John Miller , Acting County Highway Supt . accompanied
the tour and attended this special meeting .
Moved by Justice Johnson and seconded by Justice Baker that
the attached agreements for the expenditures of Highway Monies for
the year 1951 which were made and duly signed be accepted . Carried
and so ordered .
A written resignation from William B . Strong , Chairman- of the
Board of Assessors , was read to the Members of the Boar" d .
Moved. by Justice Baker and seconded by Justice Spaulding that
the Clerk write to Mr Strong accepting his resignation with regrets
• and that the Board expresses their appreciation for the many years
of sincere work as an Assessor for the Town . Carried .
The minutes of this meeting were approved as read .
On motion the meeting was adjourned .
