The town board meat the office of , the town clerk for a regular - . meeting ,
with all fustiee & present but Hoagland . Klso upt . of highways Supv . Rowney pres -
iding . - The minutes of last meeting - were read.
Rowney reported that the as situation of the welfare officer had been looker
into and it had been left with• to - her to ' appeal the case if she so desired . he
• also reported on the appointment of Deputy sherriff and on the voting machin boot]
Downey told of a change in the law in regards to the appointment of elect=
tion inspectors . A motion was made by taker to re -appoint all the republican
inspectors for one year as reccommended by the Rep . Town Chairman , seconded by
Cornelius and carried . Beck moved to appoint the Democrats inspectors as reccommi
ded by the town Democratic chairman sec by Spaulding and carried .
- A letter was read from the Voting machine co . in whick they stated that the
condition of ' our machine which was damaged by fire was beyond repair and o
offered an allowance of f100 . 00on it tword the purchase of a new machine .
Beck moved that the clerk write to the co . asking: for the delivery of the mach:
one to the vDrydeflilIage at the quoted price seconded by eornelius and carrie <
A motion was made by Baker to authorize the. Supw . to settle with the in°
surance co . for the voting machine , seconded by Beck and caerieda
The matter of a refund from the state for extraordAhmaijTrexpense of snow .
removal was taken up and discussed A motion vas made by Beck to adopt the
. resolution- as prepared and read seconded by Spaulding and carried . The minutes;
were read and approved:- The date of next board meeting was set as July 2 , upon
motion: meeting was adjourned -

General bills read and a motion was made by Cornelius to pay these as . ,:

Nicely inquired aboit renting the extra room in the ' Olmstea & house to
the Birches and the board left it entirely to the welfare offiaer . •
oighway bills were read and Beck moved these be par & as read sec . IS ornelius ancr carried . by a roll call vote .
DR 'Ilan , Dr MC ''inney and Mayor Redmore were present in connection with,
the quarantine on dogs . in the Co . The clerk read law covering article 3 of .'1 ..':
public health law . Beck moved to appoint Frank Ellis as Deputy dog warden
. under the reccomemnedationof DR .- D. M . Ryan ialth Office ; to work undercthe ' i
order of the health officer to help check the rabies , at a rate of $ I0 , 00
per day plus . 06 cents penile for mileage sec . by SpauldingAND carried by a1/4
roll call vote .
Beck moved that the Supv . and welfare officer be appointed. as a comm .
toconsuit , with the proper authorties to learn if some land could be sold
off the Olstead property to the Village to be added to the site of the new
village hail , seconded by Hoagland and carried .

The town board meet at the office of the town clerk for regular meeting
justices Cornelius , Beck , Baker , an& Spailding were present , also Supt . of Hight.

The minutes of the last meeting were read .
Frank Ellis was present and gave a report on his work as special dog
warden .
A letter was read from County welfare officer explaining the new welfare
law covering the method of payment to welfare clients . As the result of a
discussion which followed , a motion was made by Baker that the Town adopt
plan A of the new system , seconded by Beck and carried , by a umanious roll calf.

owney ' reported - that , , he had found that there was no insurance being
carried on the Varna Hall . bpaulding moved that a policy be taken out with Geo .
Bailey for SI000 , 00 to . cover • this building , Seconded by Cornelius and . carried ,

A letter was read from " alter and thna Havington , _ reccommending Rebecca
Simpsonbe appointed as election ins ector in diet 5 to fill vacancy , and a
motion was made by Spaulding % tfe for this _ appointment seconded by hoaglan
and carried .
The matter of insurance " on voting machines was taken up and Discussed: ,
and a motion was made by 6paulding to table the matter untill the next meeting
giving the Sup# . oppurtunity to obtain more information regarding rates and/$
and Ect .
A ' letter was read from j''lizabeth Fulkerson giving a report on her work
and ' attendance at the convention for Historians at Albany , and thanking the
Board for their help to her . .
The chairman ask the welfare officer what amount would be required
to have deposited in the welfare revolving fund , to carry on under the new
system . The amount agreed upon was $ 200 . 00 . Hoagland moved that $ 200 . 00 be
transferred fromhome relief to cash telief , to Edna Nicely as Town welfare
officer , seconded by teck and carried .
The. Supv . reported that he had recieved a complaint from residence
of the Bethel Drove Dist . in regards to their fire protection . This was discus
ssedHand s a result Spaulding moved that the Dryden Fire Co . be notified of
the complaint and be invited to attend the next Town board meeting to discuss
this matter seconded by Hoagland and carried .
The minutes of the meeting were read anf apprived . Upon motion meetil
was adjourned . .
