The town board meet at the office of the town clerk for regular
meeting , The justices were all present , also welfare officer and Sup Of highwa;
Supv; Sweetland being° absent , Orrie Cornelius was appointed as chairman of thl
meeting . The minutes of last meeting read and approved .
4flstice Downey reported that he had talked with Sweetland regarding
the ditching on private propertgand Sweetland ' s opinion, was that it should
be carried on as irn the past .
The matter of the towns portion- of revenue from the salvage drive was
discussed and a motion was made by Baker that Martin Beck be appointed as a court
' of one to look into the matter of the recovery of the towns share $ 2 . 00 per ton
and such amount be put in the fund for civilian defence , seconded by Spaulding
and carried by a roll call vote .

' Repairing . the former Olmstead property , garage and house was discussed
and 9gaulding moved that Downey be appointed as a comm. of one to investigate
costs and Etc . and report at the next meeting , seconded by Baker and carried
by a roll call vote .
The Highway Supt . stated that his H! Yt#& Machinery fund and item 4
bills of highway and general amounted to4603 , 54 . Tr'e Highway bills were read
and a motion made by Baker to pay as read was seconded by Downey and carried by
a < roll calf vote. .

This was discussed at lengthand the board thought that perhaps it
would be advisable to care for the house enoughto stop deteriation and to dis -
pose of the barn „ inasmuch as it was somewhat of a liability in _ its present
condition, as a result of this discussion a motion was made - -by . D - whey that the
clerk advertise . in the local papers for bids on the barn , bids. La - be recieved
by the townclerk on or before April 30 I943 , the board to reser--vethe right
to reject any - or all bids , seconded by Spaulding and carried by a unam sous vot

A letter from the association of towns ;: read regarding the new tax rate
