All Justices present , also welfare officer and Supt of Highways . The minuted of
last meeting read and approved . Welfare bills and statement read as follows .

A motion was made by Spaulding to pay same as read , seconded by '' ornelius

' Highway and all general bills were read_ , It was voted to table the Lupton
bill for Civilian- defense untill . the clerk could make some inquiries;, ; k motions
was made by Beck ' to pay balance of_' the bills as read seconded by Downey and
carried by a roll call vote . . .
. The welfare officer turned over to the 'dupt. 4 3 . 00 to apply on #eed bill
and fIQ;Q.O, on-rwhittier bill , Whitterier bill being paid in . full_. .

as a despository for the town funds , seconded by Cornelius and carried by a roll
. call vote . .
• The bonds of Supw. . for Highway and school funds and for collector of taxes we
were presented and a motion was made by Baker to approve same seconded by Cornel
and carried by a roll calllc vote .

A motion was made by Baker to - pay Justice Spaulding salary Ist of each mont
seconded by Cornelius and carried by a roll call vote . A motion by Beck to pay
the other four justices every 3 months ,,first payment Ist of April . seconded
By Downey and carried by a roll call vote .
A motion was made by Downey that the collector be paid in 5 payments , ; the
Thirst payment March I . this to be a double payment . the other 3 paynients to
be equal payments Ist of each month , seconded by Beck and carried by a roll cal
vote . . _ .

A motion was made by Downey that the welfare officer be hired to take the
Snyder 1i+ 11 patient , to the Clinic in Ithaca at the rate of 43 . 00 or # 3 . 50
as per mileage , required by the condition of the roades , sec... nded bySpaulding
and carried by a unanious - vote . .

A motion was made by Downey to adopt the Annual Budget for 1943 , seconded by
Beck and carried by a unanious vote . Upon motion meeting was : adjourned .

The town board meet at the office of the town clerk for regular meeting;
All justices and Supt . of Highways present , Supv . Sweetland presiding .
The minutes of last meeting were read and approved. The salary of the
new justice Charles Downey was discussed and the estimate read A motion was
made by Beck that his salary be fixed at # 125 . 00 with # 25 . 00 for office expense
seconded by Spaulding and Carried by a roll call vote . • - 4 .
Bill for bonds and Olmstead for hauling wood. was read and a motion was made
by Beck to pa y as read , second d by Downey and carried by a roll call vote . .

Dr . McKinney came to the meeting- and advised- regarding the bill of Earl
" Lupton for installation of blackout lights which had been tabled at a previ
meeting - awaiting an explanation . A motion was made by Beck to papas read se
seconded by Spaulding and carried by a roll call vote .
. Dr . McKinney informed the board that Etna had made a request for a siren
and . a motion was made by Spaulding that the town purchase a siren for the
village oft Etna , upon approval after a trial , seconded by Cornelius and a roll
call vote was taken with following result ; Baker NO - DvwneyNO- Spaulding
yes - Cornelius YES - Beck NO . Not carried .

Downey brought the matter before the board of hating a publicity agent
appointed , to cover the activities of the board and proceeding of townboard
' meetings , and have same published in the two local papers Rural news and aortlai
Democrat , so that the Taxt: payers of the town could have a correct And clear
understanding of the town buisness . The entire board agreed this would be a fin)
to _acc:omplsh but no farther action was taken . Upon motion meeting adjourned. .
