The town board meet at the office of the town clerk , for regular monthly
meeting , with all justices , welfare of ricer ,icer , arid Supt of highways present .
The minutes of the last two meetings were read and were approved , Dewey
Whitford present and a report of his work , for the past year read , and he ask
the town board if they was considering any proposition for police protection
this year ?
A motion was made by Beck seconded by Spaulding , to take this up with the
village boards of Freeville and "ryden , at a meeting on Uan . 14 , Carried by
roll call vote all yes ,James Cole and George Bailey were presentin regards to fire insurance on
storage building and equipement , bailey explained about a blanket floater
policy , . which would cover all equipement where ever located . Both Cole and Bai
ey , offered their bids and retired . The board voted by roll call includeing
weetland who voted for G:ole , all justices voting for Bailey ,
Welfare Bills and statement read as follows-

motion made and seconded , and carried by roll cat ' vote , these bills be
paid as read.
k motion was made by Cornelius Seconded by Beck to pay the Retd and
Hare bills as soon as money was available , carried by roll call vote .
highway and all other bills read , and motion made to pay as soon as money
is available to do so , seconded and carried by roll call vote .
A- motion made by Beck seconded by gpaulding , and carried , that Sweetland
be appointed a committee of one to make an investagationof Bonds on Town
officers and report soon, .
Mrs Nicely ask the board to consider paying her expense money for two
trips to Rochester in connection with the Bush case , , and also ask for a raise
in salary . Mrs Nicely stated her claimfor expence for two trips to Rocherster
# 25 . 00 . a motion made by Baker and seconded by ‘' ornelius to pay: the amount
cla=imed carried by roll call vote , all yes , no raise in salary was granted .
A motion was made , seconded and carried to have two board meetings a mo . .

ess only , the second meeting for any delegations , or any other buisness to

The town board meet at the office of the town clerk for , mid month meeting
and combined the meeting with the village boards of Freeville and Dryden , all
justices present . Martin was appointed as chairman in the absence of . Supv .
Sweetland . Minutes of last meeting read and approved .
Chas . Woolever foreman of the wood cutting project was present and report
e d onwork , stating that ten men had beensent him but only 7 had appeared they
had about 20 or 25 cord cytt , and beush and cleared away on the Geo Wheeler
✓ oad , The question of . Woolever ' s : authority over these men was discussed and
it was agreed by entire board that he would have the right to hire and fire
as to his judgement .
A motion was - made by Spaulding , that Beck consult - Paul Baldwin in regard
to pileing wood at his home so as to leave hin home to - aid in looking after
chis' children-, seconded by Cornelius , price to be paid to . aldwin for sawing
; his wood is to be $ 1 . 00 per cord . . Roll call vote all yes:
The question of hireing Whitford , jointly with the Villiages. of Freeville
- and Dryden was discussed from all angles . Mr Strong , Mayor of Freeville stated
that in as much as hr was retireing from than office in the spring , he felt he
should take no part in contracting in any way . Dryden Mayor Hoaglan also stated
that their contract carried untill spring only , and they were not ready to aft .
Whitfordstated that from April 1 - 1940 to Dec . 31 the town had paid for mileae
e . 373 . 00 and for serving 87 papers . his proposition was for the town to pay
285 . 00 for car and $ 125 . 00 for repairs and to furnish gas and oil . no action
was taken .
The town law covering the • houseing of town machinery was read and a-
motion aas - made and seconded that the justices and Supv make a trip to some
o f the adjoining town and get costs and ideas of their buildings , and also to
get imformation regarding their repair bills on machinery . Roll _. c.all vote all_
yes including chairman. Upon motion mde_ and seconded meeting was adjourned .
