The town board of . the town of Dryden meet at the office_ of the town clerk
for regular monglily meeting , all justices , suet of highways , welfare officer
were= present aupv = Sweetland presiding . The : minutesTof the last meeting read -
and were approved .
• Truman- Collins present concerning the renting of his house to David Lewi4
Stated that in asmuch as he had rented the house to the town , through the Supw
and justice Acherman , and the Dave Lewis family had been moved in without his
knowledge , and that the barn and some contents had been damaged and removed
he was asking the town be responsiable for from 475 . 00 to $ 100 . 00 damage and.
also , . notified the town that they must move the Lewis familywithin two Weeks .

Donald Yonts , DR . MOKinney , . and Russel Guier present in regards to ap -
propreation of f_tn ds for the American Legion; stating : the Legion would wigh-
draw their request ' for Armistice day . and leave a request for $ 150 . 00 for
I941 rental - of lodgerooms . Motion made by Cotterell , seconded by Cornelius-:
theboard pay # I50 .100 for rental for 1940 . Carried.
Highway and all other bills read , and motion made by S-paulding , to pay
same asread , geconded by Cotterell , Carried .
Motion made ; by Spaulding seconded by Beck to transfer $ 500 . 00 from
generel to highway Iterm4 , to be taken from beverage tax . . Also $ 700 . 00 from
general to welfare Carried .

Rose case , expense not to excede $ 50 . 00 , seconded by Cornelius , Carried . .

;.� The i'bwn - board meet in a spe cial session , at the office of the town
,. clerk . requested by members of the board , at the expense of the Syracuse
supply co . All justices Supt Beach , several tax payers and agents for Allis
Chalmars . International Harvester co . and Syracuse ""'upply CQ . were present , Sup
Sweetland presiding .
After reading the petition requesting the special meeting , . the Supv •
turned the meeting over to the justices who requesting it . Mr Spaulding o
objected to the petition stating he had notpetition as read , in as much as a
clause had been inserted , regarding the Supv not recieving any compensation for .
the meeting . the agent stated he had made the insertion at the request of Sweeti
land . d
The purpose of the meeting was explained that in as much as the condition )
of the town catterpiller tractor had been discussed at the last board meeting. ,
some of the justices had investigated the condition and cost of overhauling
and repairing same , and thought it advisable to call a meeting where all the
justices , the supp` and. supv . could discuss together with the agent the expens
of repairing the old tractor or the economy of buying new equipement .
The agent for Syracuse supply co . quoted the ost of overhauling and re -
pairing the old tractor as 900 , 00 to - put it in goo4, working order .
The following bids for new equipement were offered by the three co . presem

Plow , , bull - dozer with cab._, lights , starter , snow sprockets , snow tract , ice
grousers weight 25 , 467 delivered and send a mabi- to spend I week for instruction
