The Town board of the Town of Dryden met at the office of . the Town
Clerk , July 15 , for regular - monthly meeting , all Justices present also
W elfareuufficer Kinch and Supt . beach , Supervisor Sweetland presideing .
Welfare Statement read as follows : June Welfare Report :

' Welfare Officer :
Welfare bills read and motion made by Ackerman , seconded by Baker to
pay bills as read carried . A set of rules concerning home relief suggested
by Walter Kinch was read and after considerable thought by the Board the
following rules were adopted , and a motion made byCorneliue , seconded by
B aker . to publish these rules in paper carried . •

RULES : l
1 . No confinement cases shall go to a hospital without the approval
of the the Town Board thru the Welfare Officer ;
2 , No person shall receive aid from . the Town who owns or harbors a
dog . . .
3 . . Any person before receiveing , Town aid shall not be permitted to
drive a car except by permission of the Welfare Officer , and such person
shall turn their license plates over to the Town Clerk , until such time as
they are not receiveing Town aid .
4 : All men having steady work during the summer will be expected
to care for their families during the winter without Town aid .
S . Any person receiveing Town aid shall appear before the Town . .
B oard and explain the need of such help at the request of any member of
the Board , or any Taxpayer .
6 . A person known to habitually use intoxicating liquor will not
be given Town aid .
A bill from Robert and Elizabeth Schutt for 8 months rent for the
Dave Lewis family ' was presented . Clerk instructed to reply , that in as much
as Robert Schutt had entered into a contract with Lewis and the last two
checks sent by the Town were returned the Town therefore didnot feel respon ,
sible for any indebetiness .
Motion made by Beck tgahaVevMogreirecommended for Special Deputy ,
seconded by Spaulding carried . '°`
Motion made by Ackerman to table Fire Bill forp. One Month , seconded .
by Spaulding carried .
Motion made by Beck that Dave Lewis be employed by the Town , under
supervision of Supt . Beach and Welfare Officer Kinch at the regular Town
wage , seconded by Spaulding carried . .
All Bills read and motion made by Cornelius that these bills be paid
except 1938 statement by Rowley , seco ded by Spaulding carried . .
Motio4 made by Beck to build Hill , Town Line road , south and east
about 3/10 of a mile seconded by Bake and carried .
Motion made by " eck to contract -with W . PO A . for the building of
the FreevilleTownley , lroad 'MMott Cotterall, and Bert Luce roads seconded
by Baker and Carried:
Upon potion made and seconded meeting was adjourned,
