Agenda - Additions, deletions, adjustments. 2. EMC Update 3. Old Business — a. Open Space Plan 4. Town Board Update - This is an opportunity for the Town Board liaison and/or the Town Supervisor or other Town Board members to address the Conservation Board. 5. New Business Call to order: Nancy Munkenbeck, 7 :31 PM Nancy: Old business, Ag Committee meeting met yesterday. Ag Protection Plan —maps and overlays- Ag District, Ag Exemption, Ag Lands and Soil Map. Peter- to get list of farmers in ® Dryden. Craig to check out current census data to figure out dollar value for dairy, produce, xmas trees, poultry, beekeeping, ag research and turf, seed collection. Craig will checkout support services for Faming. Markets for people who want to farm here. Buyers who do pick up who have regional access. Wegmans and Tops buy local, u -pick, local market, larger lumber (Wagner). Schools are now buying produce locally- commercial grain buyers out of Town. • Jane: To include this in the OSP? Can we inventory small, roadside stands? Nancy: Ag tourism will be included. Research on roadside stand. Sent through email. Check on Federal- this is happening more and more. Any produce that is edible (not in husk) would be covered. Milo: I-low does the report you sent around effect us? Are you talking about regulations that also have to do with botching meat on the farm? Nancy: Impacts on roadside stands. Cannot butcher on farm except for chickens. Peter: This committee should only be concerned with the selling of stand vegetables, any other issues would be handled accordingly. They should be allowed to do so. Nancy: Sent article about towns taking action; regulations at the town level, not pertinent right now. Wait and see approach. 0 Charlie: Operating under the rules and procedures drafted this year. 0 • Milo: Recognize RMP, by its nature recognize other opportunities; emphasis on other opportunities, State Forest Lands, numerous opportunities, CFAs, natural history, birding, things that don't require playing field. • Nancy: Incorporate both. L: J E, Milo: Incoporate. Stanley: Not structured versus structured activities- instead of active and passive. Charlie: Oversight at Dryden Lake Park; somewhat structured; canoe and boat launch site; developing more than it has in the past two years. Milo: People like the area; history tells us that the direction is heading towards developed as Town becomes more populated. Discussion of Recreation Goal: - include objectives about signage, parking, public information - reference the RMP, but rewrite so that it complements, does not overlap that plan Discussion of Conservation Goal: - CFA's, ecological benefits, human health and wellbeing —they have legal standing , benefits as opposed to services , substitute conservation for preservation , natural and scenic beauty -Fold into ONE goal as best we can; guide development —rural character; DNA's? — as opposed to CFA's? Ag Committee to work on Agricultural goals and objectives —to follow -up at future meeting Discussion of purpose of goals and objectives — action words and measureable objectives (how much by what date .))
