b, .Jeanne gave the group some information on her background and the grant that has
been secured. It is meant to be a proactive program. Focus areas for the grant are
the North and South sides of Ithaca and the Town of Dryden,
c. There are 4 main focuses for the grant:
i, Increase the Availability of Places to be Physically Active
ii, Create Community Landscapes Conducive to Physical Activity
iii, Strategies to Increase Availability of Fresh Fruits and Vegetables
iv. Increase the Healthful Quality of Foods Offered for Sale
d. Funds cannot be used for infrastructure — so things like a sign could be paid for since
that is promotion but a path couldn't be built using these funds. Things like an actual
path or sidewalk can't be covered but kiosks or a playground aren't out of the
question,

Melissa has just started.

i. Monica Roth — ag and environmental lead — coordinator for all of the staff
people listed — she'll be working on the farmer's market piece
ii. Liz Ka coordinator of healthy food for all program CsA program —
farmers in area are happy to provide subsidized CSA shares to local low
income folks — here in Dryden, Liz will be working on helping to create a CA
program — in addition to food, recipes are provided too
iii, Matt LeReu — working on bringing more healthy food to convenience or
corner stores — there are a couple of places in Dryden we are hoping to
partner with- We would ask them to give up some shelf space to provide local
produce,
iv. Jimmila Sequeria working more in the city than in Dryden — liaison to
community center, northside housing authority and GIAC
v. Josh Dolan — working with Community Garden (Jimmila and .lean Simmons
from Dryden)
f, DR C mentioned one program is transportation — TCAT bus is not great to Dryden
i, ITITC is doing a study and asking for feedback on improvement to bus routes
g- Jeanne was given a copy of the DRC's short -term and long -term goals and the
Recreation Masker Plan, Asked about the possibility of taking the trails information
the Town has and possibly }gutting it together in to a trail brochure that is user
