CONCERNING THE $50.00 FEE THE TOWN NOW CHARGES IN REGARD TO SALE TRANSACTION OF
HOUSES IN THE TOWN:NOT TIED TO A CURRENT BUILDING PERMIT.DISCUSSION FOLLOWED.
INSPECTION WILL BE REQUIRED WHEN A HOUSE IS SOLD BEFORE A CO WILL BE ISSUED. JIM
HOVANEC QUESTIONED IF THERE ARE THINGS THE ZONING OFFICER WILL INSPECT? TOLD HIM
EVERYTHING HAS TO BE UP TO CODE ON ALL CONSTRUCTION, SUPERVISOR DIETRICH STATED,•
PEOPLE HAVE DONE REPAIRS TO THEIR HOMES AND IT'S THE ONLY WAY WE CAN MAKE SURE
BUILDINGS ARE SAFE. DISCUSSION ON SPRINKLER SYSTEMS. JIM HOVANEC FEELS TOWN OF
ITHACA IS AN EXPERIMENT, FEELS IT WOULD CAUSE MORE PROBLEMS. WOULD LIKE TO SEE
WHAT DANBY'S DOING NOW INSTEAD OF SPRINKLER SYSTEMS HERE. CLMN ECKSTROM FEELS CO'S
ARE AN ALTERATIVE STEP. BANKS WERE ASKING US TO DO THEIR INSPECTIONS. DISCUSSION

OWS.TOWN LAWYER CLERMONT STATED THAT'CTHE TOWN DID NOT WANT TO TAKE THE ROAD OVER
THIS YEAR UNDER ANY CONDITION- THIS DID NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE CO.-`S.IF
LETTER OF CREDITWAS ISSUED, CO'S COULD BE ISSUED. IF PETE CODDINGTON SAYS ROAD IS
PASSIBLE, BY EMERGENCY VEHICLES, DATE WE WOULD PUT INTO LETTER OF CREDIT WOULD BE
APRIL OR MAY OF NEXT YEAR. HOVANEC WE HAVE NOT SAT DOWN AS A GROUP(HOVANEC AND
TOWN),PART OF THE PROBLEM. BANKS, BEFORE FINALDRAW OF MONEY, WANTS ROADS ACCEPTED
BY THE TOWN. HOVANEC IS WILLING TO PUT UP $25,000.00 THAT THE ROADS HE BUILDS WILL
HOLD TRUCKS AND BE PASSIBLE.HE WANTS THE TOWN TO TAKE OVER THE ROAD THIS YEAR AND
HE WILL TOP IT NEXT YEAR, ALL SPELLED OUT IN THE ATTACHED LETTER. IF IT'S A MATTER
OF BEING TOPPED, HE WILL DO IT THIS YEAR, HOVANEC WOULD LIKE THE TOWN TO ACCEPT IT
NOW,, WITH A $200,000. HOUSE WITHOUT TOWN SERVICES, WHAT ARE WE GETTING TAXED FOR?
CLERMONT ASKED HOVANEC IF HE WOULD GIVE LETTER OF CREDIT NOW HIS ANSWER WAS =-YES.
CLERMONT STATED" BUT YOU WANT US TO TAKE THE ROAD OVER ". HOVANEC'WAITING FOR CO
AND THAT WAS NEVER IN THE AGREEMENT. ROAD WILL BE COMPLETED EXCEPT FOR FINISH
TOPPING BY FALL. HOVANEC AGREED TO DO THE ROAD FOR UNDER $5,000..CLERMONT STATED
THAT THE TOWN CAN'T ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH HOVANEC WITHOUT BIDDING THE ROAD
OUT.HOVANEC STATED HE COULD HAVE THE ROAD TOPPING ON BY SEPT91111988 AND WONT GIVE
• LETTER OF CREDIT AND THE TOWN CAN TAKE OVER THE ROAD AND WORRY ABOUT WHAT HAPPENS
TO IT.THERE HAS TO BE A LEGAL WAY. CODDINGTON SAID THAT THE ROAD NEEDS ANOTHER

THE CITY. IS GIVEN MORE MONEY. BY THE TOWN,
DOROTHY ROBERTS INQUIRED ABOUT LISTING DOG WARDEN UNDER THE TOWN OF DANBY IN THE
PHONE'BOOK AND FOUND THAT THE TOWN OF CAROLINE LISTING IS ILLEGALrBUSINSS CAN't
BE LISTED WITH A RESIDENT PHONE,
FRANK PROTO ABSENT BUT CLMN ROBERTS GAVE REPORT. E4VYIRONMENTALIMPACT STATEMENT
FOR THE LANDFILL HAS BEEN DISTRIBUTED, 90 COPIES THROUGHOUT THE COUNTY. OFFICIAL
COMMENTS WILL BE RECEIVED AUGUST 10TH THROUGH SEPT. 13TH, HEARINGS SET ON TWO
NIGHTS, AUGUST 30 AND AUGUST 31 AT NYSEG. IF UNABLE TO ATTEND COMMENT AND REMARKS
CAN BE ADDRESSED TO FRANK PROTO, SOLID WASTE COMM. AT THE COURT HOUSE,
COUNTY IS EXAMINING IT'S ROLE IN THE YOUTH SERVICES PROGRAM.

OF THE PARK. THEIR IN FAVOR TO GO THE FINANCICAL ROUTE. DON'T KNOW IF
THE PEOPLE BACKED OUT OF THE DEAL. LAWYERS AND DIETRICH MEET THE LATTER

JIM HOVANEC TALKED TO THE FIRE DEPT. ABOUT A FIRE HYDRANTS FOR OLD TOWN
VILLAGE, WOULD LIKE TO FIND OUT IF THERE IS ANY FUNDING AVAILABLE..
COMMUNITY COUNCIL JUDY TAGLIAVENTO REPORTED THERE WERE 37 PEOPLE IN SUMMER
REC. POND RUNNING WELL IN THE 80'.S.
HIGHWAY PETE CODDINGTON REPORTED THAT THEY HAVE PAVED A MILE OF TROY ROAD,
START ON HEISEY ROAD. PETE CODDINGTON SUGGESTED IF ANY POSSIBLE LEGAL WAY
WE COULD DO OLD TOWN ROAD AND FINISH NEXT YEAR, GET THE SPECS WRITTEN UP
THAT THE BUILDER RESPONSIBLE SIX MONTHS AFTER ROAD BUILT. SUPERVISOR DIETRICH
ASKED FOR HIM TO WET JENNINGS POND ROAD DOWN AS DUST COMING UP AS MORE TRAFFIC
ON ROAD.
