The meeting was called to order at 7:37 P.M.
A motion to accept the minutes prepared by Linda Howe for the joint
Town Board -BZA- Planning Board meeting of April 20 as the official
Planning Board minutes for that date was passed with Walt opposed
and the rest of the Board members attending in favor.
Nancy read a request for a recommendation on speed limit reductions
from Ric Dietrich, Town Supervisor. After considerable discussion,
It was decided by unalimous vote of the Board to recommend that the
45 mph zone on 96B be extended north to Rick Ferrel's house and
south to the entrance of Bruce's Equipment, in addition, a "sharp
curve" sign for the north -bound lane of 96B south of Thayer's was
judged desirable, although the Board was uncertain whether the request
for such a sign should accompany the request for a speed limit
reduction. 45 mph was also recommended for S. Danby Road from 96B
to the intersection of Hill Road, and on 34/96 from the 'West Danby"
sign on the north to the "West Danby" siagn on the south.
Harriet, and then Ken, Adams presented their plans for a planned
development on the site of the Bruce's Equipment Planned Development,
which PD would be the headquarters for their carpet and upholstery
cleaning business. The main focus of the Board's questions was on
chemical use and disposal. Ken reviewed for the Board the properties
of the chemicals used by their firm (ABC) and plans.for appropriate
disposal. After consultation with the Adams' engineer, the State
DEC has specified a waste disposal system containing a leachfield
and aeration pond, ocapable of handling a flow of ?50 gallons a day,
considerably in excess of anticipated use. Noise and screening
were other Board concerns, both addressed to the Board's satisfaction
In the plans. The Board voted (Walt abstaining) to send the plans
to the Town Attorney for incorporation into a revised set of district
regulations. A special meeting was scheduled for June 2 at 7s30 P.M.
to review these before making the final recommendation to the Town
Board.
Meeting adjourned at 10s24 P.M.
