Supervisor Don Burdick
At the June 9, 1986 public hearing the decision to purchase a 1980 hydraulic
excavator from Cayuga Leasing was tabled until the highway superintendent
and one of the highway employees could inspect the machinery at its New
Jersey location.
Mr. Coddington updated the board, stating that Les Palmer could not be at
the meeting to make any remarks. Pete feels the excavator is a good machine,
reporting that there are more hours on machines than the hour gauge indicated.
Some digging was done with the .machine and he felt the machine worked well.
Supervisor Burdick asked Pete how Les felt about the excavator. Pete said
Les felt it was a good machine. The previous owner is not known; however,
the machine came from Texas.
Supervisor
Burdick discussed financial
plans.

All town board members were in favor of purchasing the 1980 used hydraulic
excavator.
Ed Shay
appreciated Pete going
to New Jersey
to inspect the machinery. Pete
commended the town's equipment
operator, Les
Palmer, in his careful use of
highway
equipment.
Richard Walker, Cayuga Leasing, needs a letter of intent from the Town to
purchase the machine. Supervisor Burdick asked Pete to take care of this
as soon as possible.
