TOWN BOARD MEETING ��9INUTES
March 10, 1986
The regular meeting of the Danby Town Board was called to order at 8 :00 PM at
the Danby Town Hall, 1330 Danby Road, Town of Danby, County of Tompkins,
New York, March 107 19860Councilperson Ric Dietrich called the meeting to order,
due to absence of Supervisor Burdick.

Councilperson Dorothy Roberts
Councilperson Ric Dietrich
Absent: Supervisor Don Burdick and Councilman Edward Shay
Others present: Kenneth Coddington, Paul Seeley, Mildred Miller, Emma Wilson,
Edward Roberts (Danby Road) Herbert Engman, Joel Gagnon, Don Graham, Edward M.
Roberts.
Communications: Councilperson Roberts read letter from Town of Ulysses regarding
a zoning and planning seminar to be held at the Ulysses Town Hall, March 18 and 19
7:30 to 9:30 PM. The program is being sponsored by the Department of State.
Councilperson Roberts moved to approve. the February 10 minutes as presented,
seconded by Councilman Dietrich, carried unanimously.
Privilege of the floor :.
Joel Gagnon questioned status of the Margaret Adams property, Councilman Dietrich
explained town attorney has sent a letter to Mrs. Adams informing her town will
be cleaning up her property.
Emma Wilson voiced .dissatisfaction over the state doing repair work on the dam
at Jennings Pond. Her property is adjacent to the pond and is receiving considerable
damage from the.equipment dying the...repairs.
Committee Reports:
County Youth: Councilman Dietrich reported the County Youth are putting together
a three year budgetplan. There is an informational meeting March 11 for anyone
interested in putting forth ideas for the youth program.
Jennings Pond: Edward Roberts reported the committee plans to deepen the pond
four feet in the swimming area as well as rebuild the lifeguard chair and build
a new dock. Paul Seeley will be doing the bulldozer work.
Councilman Dietrich said the town board could budget through revenue sharing
$5,000 for the pond work and new equipment mentioned above.
Mr. Roberts said the committee hopes some time in the future to build a small
pavillion to store picnic tables under.
Councilperson Tagliavento moved to approve the above work on the pond and build
a new dock and lifeguard chair in the amount of $57125.00.

Environmental Management Council: Herb Engman reported the council are still
studying new sites for landfill, and groundwater study. Mr.Engman questioned
if the Ithaca Theater Lighting Company has supplied to the town a list of chemicals
�- used and how disposed of. Mr. Engman would also like to town to establish a
list of unique and natural areas in Danby.
Planning Board: Don Graham reported the county is still reviewing possible
landfill sites. The county also discussed waste managment problems in Tompkins
County,
Fire District: Councilperson Dietrich reminded everyone of the Safety Awareness
Day to be held April 12 at the Fire House,
Councilman Dietrich reported the town attorney has sent a letter to Chuck Bruce
regarding his planned development and inviting him to meet with the town board
to discuss dissolving the planned development.

Town Board Meeting Minutes
Dog Warden: Councilman Dietrich read a report presented by Miss Bard. Dogs
are still running at large, getting into trash.
Zoning: A
written
report was
presented. One wood
stove inspection
was done
and four
permits
were renewed
as construction on
dwellings were not
completed,.
Councilman Dietrich reported there will be an agenda meeting April 7 to discuss
insurance questions to be asked for April's regular..•meeting. Ithaca Agency
representative will be at the meeting to review the towns liability coverages.
Warrants:
Councilperson Roberts moved to approve payment of the Warrant #3, General Fund
Warrant in the amount of $1332.49, seconded by Councilperson Tagliavento, carried
unanimously.
Councilman Dietrich moved to approve payment of Warrant #3, Highway Fund Warrant
in the amount of $6330.80, seconded by Councilperson Roberts, carried unanimously.
Councilperson Tagliavento moved to approve payment of Warrant #3, West Danby
Water District Warrant in the amount of $148.16, seconded by Councilman Dietrich,
carried unanimously.
Councilperson Roberts moved to accept the Supervisor's monthly report as presented,
seconded by Councilperson Tagliavento, carried unanimously.
Councilperson Roberts moved to adjourn the meeting at 9:00 PM, seconded by Council-
person Tagliavento carried unanimously.
