HomeMy WebLinkAbout1984-02-15Minutes Town of Danby Planning Board February 15, 1984 Members Present :Donald Graham, Walt Sczepanski, Jim Hovanec, Joel Gagnon, Nancy Weitzel, Carol Benjamin, Others Present: Mildred Miller, Mary Oltz,.Dorothy Roberts, Ric Dietric, Ed Shay, Ed Roberts(Bald Hill). Meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. Jan. 18 minutes were read and approved as written. The minutes of our informal meeting with the Town Board on 1/25/84 were read and approved as written. Privilege of the Floor. Walt asked if we have a Zoning Officer yet. Donald informed us that we do not have one yet. The Town Board had a special meeting after their regular meeting to discuss the situation. Joel is still unsure of the interpretation of non - conforming use in regards to the mobile home in West Danby that was not.used for approximately three years, then a family moved into it. Some people call this non - conforming use and some people don't. Gary Evans, from County Planning Board, and Pam Cler- mont, our town lawyer, . •that '.it- is, non - conforming use. Mildred mentioned that we have untill 3/24/84 to send in estimates on stream maintenance to prevent water damage to property to get a possible 50% refund in cost share revenues from County Bd. of Reps. They have 18,000.00 in funds to help individual towns with yhis project.. Donald asked Mildred if the T,B. had a reached a decision on how we should act on the Zoning ordinance. Peaee meal is recommended. Mildred said that it has been decided thatihe zoning officer, and either the town supervisor or BJA chair person sign all zoning and special permits. Mildred feels we need a sub - division section in our ordinance. Ed Shay 'Hunts to know if we are trying to be progressive or status -quo. Jim feels that P.U.D. "S have been allowed to develope, then we have non- efforcement.. Hefeels T.B. needs to enforced these situations. Donald attended a.meeting at County P.B. on 1/23/84. The purpose was to discuss Flood Plane Management and what municipalities must do to qualify for National Federal Insurance. Danby's must be revised so that Danby citizens may be eligible for flood insurance. He would like a committee to work on a- proposal .for..stream._maintenance; andturn'in said purposal�nto" *the T;B. before there.March meeting. The committee will consist of Don, Walt, Carol, and Ed Shay. Donald askedthe T.B. to search records for past P.U.D.'s. If they cannot be founr? ask past and present attornies for copies. If there are certain P.U.D.,�Is that cannot be found can new ones be drawn up? He asked if this information could be conveyed to P.B. by our March 21. meeting Meeting was adjourned at 9.:45 P.M. Next meeting 3/21/84. at 7:30P.M.
