increase
Councilman Ted Merritt rescinded the motion made at the November
14, 1983 meeting to amend the budget to increase highway super-
intendent's salary from $16,660 to $18,000.
Councilman Ted Merritt pointed out the 1984 Budget has been
adopted and nothing can be done for this upcoming year.
Roger Hile said he would like to stay on as Highway Superin-
tendent but would like some kind of commitment that he will get
a substantial salary increase in the $20,000 range for 1985,
with all the book work involved and the responsibility of the
job, feels he should get a raise.
Councilperson Sylvia Hiney asked why he did not put this salary
increase in his budget for 1984. Mr. Hile explained he did
not prepare the highway budget.
The board members all agreed Mr. Hile is deserving of a salary
increase for 1985 but do not want to make promisej for a 1985
budget.
Mr. Hile submitted his resignation in writing, to become effec-
tive December 31, 1983 at midnight.
The Board members regretfully accepted Mr. Hile's letter of
resignation.

person Sylvia Hiney to adjourn the meeting at 4 :55 P.M.
Re ectfull submitted,
