TOWN OF DANBY
PUBLIC HEARING ON SENIOR CITIZENS TAX EXEMPTION?
July 29, 1982
The Town Board of the Town of Danby held a public hearing on
the Senior Citizens Tax Exemption. The hearing was held at the
Danby Elementary School, 72 Gunderman Road on July 29, 1982 at
7;00 P.M. Notice of public hearing having been advertised in the
Ithaca Journal in the July 23rd issue.
The purpose of the public hearing was to increase the annual in-
come limit for eligible person to $10,500.
Board Members present; Councilperson Sylvia Hiney
Councilperson Mary Oltz
Councilperson Dorothy Roberts
Supervisor Mildred Miller
Absent; Councilman Ted Merritt
Others present; Kenneth Merritt
With no one showing opposition, Supervisor Miller entertained the
motion for resolution to increase annual income limit for eligi-
ble persons to $10,500.
RESOLUTION #19 INCREASE THE ANNUAL INCOME LIMIT FOR ELIGIBLE
PERSONS (65) SIXTY -FIVE OR OLDER FROM $8,800
TO 131095009 TO RECEIVE 50% REAL PROPERTY
TAX EXEMPTION,
Mildred Puller moved the resolution and was seconded by Council-
person Mary Oltz and carried by a vote fo four ayes and no noes.
At 7 ;35 P.M. Councilperson Mary Oltz moved that the meeting be
adjourned and seconded by Councilperson Sylvia Hiney.
