SPECIAL BOARD MEETING MINUTES
May 27, 1980
A special meeting of the Danby Town Board was called to order at B:OOP.M.
at the Danby Town Hall, 1830 Danby Road, Town of Danby, County of
Tompkins and State of New York on May 27, 19800
® Board members present: Councilperson Dorothy Roberts
Councilman Robert Snedden
Supervisor Mildred Miller
Board members absent: Councilman Bradley Corbitt
Councilman Ted Merritt
40 The Zoning Officer, Frank Haskins, was also present.
The purpose of this special meeting was to discuss the proposed
revisions to the Danby Zoning Ordinance prepared by the Danby Planning
Board. It was noted that Ted Merritt would be late to the meeting
and that Bradley Corbitt was unable to attend. They have made their
wishes known to the Supervisor relating to the proposed revisions
to the zoning ordinance. After discussion the board decided to draw
up a letter directed to the Town of Danby Planning Board asking them
to lay aside their present revisions and then to make the current
ordinace enforceable with as few revisions or additions as possible.
These revisions to be presented to the Danby Town Board by September
of 1980. A copy of this letter is attached hereto and made a part
of these minutes.
Councilperson Dorothy Roberts made the motion that the meeting be
adjourned. The motion was seconded by Councilman Robert Snedden
and carried by a motion of three ayes and no noes. The time was
9 :30 P.M.

The purpose of this meeting; was to give you a new charge to make
our present zoning laws more desirable for the people of Danby.
:rile would like you to la aside your present revision and
ma.rr.e the current ordinance enforceable with .as few revisions or
additions as necessary.
We feel a simple law well enforced is more desirable
than a complicated law that can't be enforced with. our present
financial and personnel limitations.
