SPECIAL BOARD MEETING
April 7, 1980
MINUTES
A special meeting of the Danby Town Board was called to order at
7:00 P.M. at the Danby Town Hall, Town of Danby, County of Tompkins
and State of New York on April 7, 1980. The purpose of the meeting
was to award bids for a loader /backhoe and a used vibratory roller.
Bids having been received and opened March 19, 1980 at a special
meeting of the board.
Board members present: Councilman Ted Merritt
Councilperson Dorothy Roberts
Councilman Robert Snedden
Supervisor Mildred Miller

Board member absent. Councilman Bradley Corbitt
The low bid for the loader /backhoe was submitted by Arsenault's
Tractor Sales Inc. The bid was $22,030.00 with trade. The low bid
for a used vibratory roller was submitted by Gateway Equipment Corp.
for a used Rex Model SP900 for $29,500.00. These low bids were
accepted and all bidders will be notified.
The matter of financing was discussed. Revenue sharing funds in the
amount of $15,000.00 have been budgeted and will be used as partial
payment. The balance of $36,530.00 will have to be financed through
the bank. This can be done by signing a seven year serial bond.
$5,218.57 will be paid each year with interest of $443.58 the first
year. The interest rate to be 8.5 %. This can be paid after five
years with no prepayment penalty. Councilman Ted Merritt mived a
resolution that the town borrow $36,530.00 to purchase a used
vibratory roller and a loader /backhoe and authorize Supervisor
Mildred Miller to sign a serial bond for that amount. Councilman
Robert Snedden seconded the motion.

Carried by a vote of four ayes and no noes.
Councilperson Dorothy Roberts made the motion at 7:30 P.M. to adjourn
the meeting. Councilman Robert Snedden seconded the motion which
was carried by a vote of four ayes and no noes.
