SPECIAL BOARD MEETING MINUTES
February 25, 1980
A special meeting of the Danby Town Board was called to order at the
Danby Town Hall, 1830 Danby Road at 8 :15 P.M. The purpose of the
meeting was to approve specifications for a backhoe and roller for
the Danby Highway Department.

Board member absent: Councilman Bradley Corbitt
® Others present: Highway Superintendent Roy Hornbrook , Ralph Wilbur
Roy Hornbrook, highway superintendent, submitted specifications for
a backhoe and roller. Councilperson Dorothy Roberts read these
specifications, for the benefit of the board. Mr. Hornbrook stated
that if these specifications are approved by the town board, they
must be taken to Bill Mobs, the county public works commissioner
for his approval also. The specifications and the need for the
equipment were discussed at length. Councilperson Dorothy Roberts
made the motion that the highway superintendent advertise for bids
for the vibrator roller and the backhoe. Bid opening to be March
19, 1980 at 7 :30 P.M. at the Danby Town Hall. Councilman Robert
Snedden seconded the motion which was carried by a vote of four
ayes and no noes.
In other business to be brought before the board, the clerk -tax
collector asked that the town board pass a resolution to authorize
her to issue corrected tax bills to Margaret Marshall and to Randy
and Clara Lockwood. The Lockwood delinguent water bill in the
amount of $16.50 was added to the Marshall tax bill in error. She
submitted a proposed resolution to that affect. This resolution was
read by Supervisor Mildred Miller. Councilperson Dorothy Roberts
moved the resolution which was seconded by Councilman Robert Snedden.

Carried by a vote of four ayes and no noes.
The board discussed vouchers that are submitted in January�or later
that cover supplies or services for the previous year. No funds
are available in the budget to pay these bills. Van Dyke Billings
bill for 19791that was submitted for payment in February was
discussed. The Supervisor stated that bills should be submitted in
the year that they are incurred in order that the budget be used
properly. The board all agreed that the Van Dyke Billings bill be
paid.

Councilman Robert Snedden stated that the highway employee's ins-
urance is carried by the Carey McKinney Group. There is no
disability insurance. The two insurance companys serving the Town
of Danby, Ithaca Agency and the Carey McKinney Group, have been
asked to have representatives meet with the town board to discuss
the present coverage the town has with each of them and make sug-
gestions for coverage the town may need but doesn't have. Ithaca
Agency will be asked to meet with -the board March 10th at 7:00 P.M.
at the town hall and the Carey McKinney Group will be asked to
meet with the board the same date at F7c:30 P.M.
As there was no other business to be brought before the board, the
meeting was adjourned at 10:10 P.M.
