PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED BUDGE'T'
OF
REVENUE SHARING FUNDS
August 30 , 1977
A public hearing was held by the Danby Town Board of the Town of
Danby , County of Tompkins and State of New York at the Danby Town
Hall , 1830 Danby Road at 8 : 00 P . M . on August 30 , 1977 as duly
advertised in the August 20 , 1977 issue of the Ithaca Journal .
The purpose of the hearing was to consider the proposed budget for
the use of Federal Revenue Sharing Funds .
• Board members present : Supervisor A . Francis Wright
Councilman Paul Smith
Justice Floyd Dorn
Justice Milton Todd
• Board member absent : Councilman Ralph Wilbur
Others present : Frank Proto , Jack Baker , Judson Leonard , Edward
Slights , James Murinchack , Roger Buckley , WTKO reporter .
The hearing was called to order and the clerk furnished proof of
publication of the notice to the town board . Copies of the proposed
budget were given to all persons present and the supervisor went
over the figures with them .
A letter was received from the Danby Fire District requesting
$3 , 408 . 00 of revenue sharing funds to replace hose . Supervisor
Wright stated that on the advise of Audit and Control and the
instructions for setting up budgets for Revenue Sharing Funds he
could not grant the request . Revenue Sharing Funds cannot be
budgeted to a secondary recipient which the Danby Fire District is .
The Senior Citizens had requested funds and were instructed to
submit a budget . They did not respond .
James Murinchack suggested that instead of showing two separate
figures one for repairing the Town Hall and the other to landscape
and install a parking area , just budget the total set aside for
these projects , or $ 10 , 000 . 00 , for repair to the Town Hall and
grounds .
All persons wishing to be heard , having been heard , the hearing
was adjourned at 8 : 45 P . M .
Respectfully submitted ,
