PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PROPOSED REVISIONS
To The
DANBY ZONING ORDINANCE
November 16 , 1976
The Town Board of the Town of Danby held a public hearing on the
proposed revisions to the Danby Zoning Ordinance at the West Danby
Fire Station , West Danby on November 16 , 1976 at 8 : 00 P . M . Notice
of the public heating was duly advertised in the Ithaca Journal in
the November 1st and November 8th issues and notice posted .
Board members present : Supervisor A . Francis Wright
Councilman Ralph Wilbur
Councilman Paul Smith
Justice Milton Todd
Board member absent : Justice Floyd Dorn
P lanning Board members present : Chairman Ernest Cole , Alberta
Wilbur , Donald Graham
Appeals Board members present : Chairman John Wilkinson , Edward
Roberts , James Murinchack
Approximately 50 people attended the hearing . The following people
introduced themselves or were recognized : Gordon Roberts , Onalee
Wright , Attorney Richard Thaler , Gary Evans , Jean Nowack , Earl
Konchack , Judson Leonard , Jack Cortright , Donald Wright , Earl
Colburn , Lloyd French , Lucy Huttunen , Roy Casterline , Mr . Hansen ,
Margaret McLean , Edward Marshall , Margaret Hoffman , Andrew Reed ,
Mrs . Hulbert , George Potter .
Affidavit of advertising and posting was presented to the town
board and was read to the public by Supervisor A . Francis Wright .
E rnest Cole , chairman of the Town of Danby Planning Board , spoke on
t he background of the revisions to the Town of Danby Zoning Ordinance .
Gary Evans , Tompkins County Planning Office , mentioned the changes
made in the present zoning ordinance to come up with the proposed
revised ordinance . The style of the ordinance is changed and it is
more detailed .
�i The public then expressed their opinions and asked questions . Two
people spoke in favor of the proposed revised ordinance and
approximately twenty people asked questions or spoke against the
revised ordinance .
All persons desiring to be heard , having been heard , the hearing
was terminated at 9 : 30 P . M .
