PUBLIC NOTICE: A Regular Meeting of the Town of Danby Board of Zoning Appeals
(BZA) will be held at 7PM on Tuesday, July 28, 2026. The meeting will be in person at
Danby Town Hall, 1830 Danby Rd, Ithaca, NY to hear all interested parties regarding
the following proposed actions. The public and applicants may also attend by ZOOM:

VAR 2026-02 Address: 62 Lieb Road Parcel : 10.-1-58 Applicant : Colleen Cowan
Zone District: Rural 2
Anticipated Action: Determine the application is complete; Hold public hearing;
Take action on the variance request SEQR : Type 2
Applicant Request: Reduce the area of the property from ~2 acres to 1.43 acres in
the Rural 2 Zone District which requires a minimum area per lot of 10 acres. The
owner intends to transfer the ~0.57 acres to the adjacent properties at 66 Lieb
Road and 56 Lieb Road.
NOTE: The discussion on VAR 2026 -03 at 116 S Danby Road has been
POSTPONED until August 25 th 2026.
VAR 2026-03 Address : 116 S Danby Rd Parcel : 20.-1-19.62 Applicant : Arthur
Bakert Zone District: Low Density Residential . Anticipated Action : Determine the
application is complete; Hold public hearing; Take action on the variance request
SEQR: Type 2 Applicant Request: Permit subdivision of a ~5.74 acre lot with ~326
feet of frontage on South Danby Road into two lots of ~2.87 acres each, each
with a lot width at the road R/W line of ~163 feet. Per Section 603(4)(a) no more
than one (1) lot created for every five (5) acr es of land or per 200 feet of road
frontage whichever results in the greater number of lots is permitted.
