HomeMy WebLinkAbout1972-02-01 S PECIAL MEETING DANBY TOWN BOARD February 1 , 1972 A special meeting of the Town of Danby Town Board was held in the Danby Elementary School , February 1 , 1973 , at 8 : 00 P . M . Board members present : Supervisor Doha ] d Makie Councilman Gerald Crance Councilman Ralph Wilbur J ustice Floyd Dorn J ustice A . Francis Wright Also present : Attorney Richard Thaler , Attorney George Pfann , Howard Schlieder . Richard Blatchley , Lloyd French and wife , and Roy Casterline and Mary Casterline . The purpose of the special meeting is to decide whether or not to adopt a resolution to extend the West Danby Water District . Attorney Richard Thaler presented four items for consideration : 1 . Was the public hearing printed in the Ithaca Journal and the notice properly posted as required by law ? 2 . Are the property and property owners , within the proposed district for extension , benefited by this e xtension ? 3 . Are all the property and property owners benefited included within the limits of the district for e xtension ? 4 . Is the establishment or extension of such district in the public interest ? Attorney Thaler then read Thomas G . Millers report to the Town of Danby on Proposal of DHS & RGB Holding Company , Inc . to extend the West Danby Water District . He feels the resolution should be worded in such a way as to provide the water system distribution through Stage I only . Howard Schlieder explained Stage I to the Board . After a lengthy discussion a recess was called by Supervisor Makie to go over the maps . Supervisor Makie called the meeting back to order . There were no questions . The Board was asked to approve the district as ✓ ecommended . The motion was made by Councilman Crance and seconded by Justice A . Francis Wright to adopt a resolution to e xtend the West Danby Water District . This resolution to be drawn up by Attorney Thaler . The motion was duly put to a ✓ oll call vote . The motion was carried by a vote of five ayes and no noes . Councilman Ralph Wilbur made the motion that the meeting be adjourned . The motion was seconded by Councilman Crance and carried by a vote of five ayes and no noes . The meeting was adjourned at 9 : 30 P . M . Respectfully submitted Mary Oltz Town Clerk
