HomeMy WebLinkAbout2025 06 07 Meeting MinutesWest Danby Water Meeting Minutes June 7, 2025 Meeting called to order at 5:01 by Ben Coakley Attending: Ben Coakley, Marrell Cortright, Scott Wendt, Shawn Wendt, Marie Monroe, Skip Fairchild, Marge Seamon, Tod Sukontarak, Katharine Hunter, Town Code Officer - Steve Cortright, Joel Gagnon Guests – Matthew Wise and Leonard Dodge – both seeking to join the water board.  Vouchers -  Staples – colored ink - $59.99 Staples – black ink and copy paper - $107.47 USPS – postage for annual water report - $87.60 Yaws – water test – April & May - $110.00 Williamson Law - blank water bills - $259.86 May minutes were emailed to everyone. Motion to accept the minutes made by Skip, seconded by Ben.  All in favor.   Privilege of the floor -     None Operator Report – Daily pumping – 12,594 gals last month. Nothing out of the ordinary to report for last month. The new meters were installed at Evelyn Hendrix and Beth Palace’s homes. The new freeze plate is installed at 34 Maple Ave. Discussed the homes we go to when we must perform water tests.  The applicants seeking to join the water board – introductions were made and questions to and from them followed. A very good discussion was had.  The news from RCAP about funding or finding funding for upgrades to our system. Because of the amount of money in our reserve fund we will not qualify for any grants or funding opportunities. Good discussion about having an engineering study done and what points/ specifics it should cover. Also discussed were the pros and cons of paying for such a study and benefits for planning for the future of our water system.  Budget – went over the numbers in the report supplied to us by the town bookkeeper as to where we are on our spending for this fiscal year. We are over budget on repairs due to the water main break we had. (Repairs – line item – SW8340.410)  The motion was made by Skip and seconded by Marie to move money from our reserve fund to the operating budget to cover the $1,190.00 shortfall from the cost of the repair. All are in favor.  Marrell reported that the billing blanks did arrive to start the next billing with.  The new bills have the new mailing address of the water office on them. Our next meeting will be Wednesday, July 2. Skip made the motion to adjourn at 6:11pm, Marie seconded this motion. All in favor. Respectfully submitted, Marrell Cortright District Clerk
