HomeMy WebLinkAbout2025 09 03 WDWD Meeting MinutesWest Danby Water Meeting Minutes September 3, 2025 Meeting called to order at 5:00 by Ben Coakley Attending: Ben Coakley, Marrell Cortright, Shawn Wendt, Tod Sukontarak, Lenny Dodge, Leslie Connors, Town Code Officer - Steve Cortright, Joel Gagnon Vouchers -  Yaws – Monthly water test - $55.00 Amrex – Monthly chlorine delivery - $332.00 Danby Fire District – generator repair - $743.22 Clerks Note – On March 25th, an alarm going off from the generator. Service Repair man called, generator was serviced/repaired. As per our agreement with the Fire District, the water district is responsible for 25% of all repairs and servicing.  August minutes were emailed to everyone. Minutes from August 6th (regular monthly meeting) and August 20th (RFQ meeting). Motion to accept the minutes made by Lenny, seconded by Skip. All in favor.   Privilege of the floor -     None Operator Report – Scott is still at work. Shawn reports that Scott has completed his SIREN training and now has access to the system to give alerts. Lead and Copper reports have been submitted. Disinfecting Byproducts t3esting was done.  Daily average pumping this month – 12,020 gals Extra flushing has been happening this month. On 8/1 and 8/11 the north end was flushed. On 8/21 and 8/22 the south end was flushed and on 8/30 Hillview rd was flushed. Hillview was flushed again on 9/2. Discussion followed concerning why all the water issues lately. Shawn met with Becky from RCAP since the last meeting to give her a tour of the whole water system and answer questions.  Ben – the RFQ for the engineering services has been completed. The timeline in the RFQ sounds reasonable. Timeline discussed and it was felt by the board that it could be met. The ad will run for 3 to 6 weeks. We will interview firms in November or December. Once we accept a firm, we can negotiate the price and scope of the survey. The RFQ needs to be approved by the Danby Town Board once the Waterboard approves it. The next town board meeting will be on September 8th.  Tod makes the motion we turn the RFQ currently written into a final document to be submitted to the town board. Skip seconds this motion, all are in favor.  We will have to schedule a meeting for us to meet with engineers soon.  Discussed budget numbers, we need to set a budget workshop date. This will be held in our new office. Date picked is September 16th at 5pm. The Office – The floor is installed. We now need to schedule the final electrical inspection and the heaters need to yet be installed.  Discussed 70 Station Rd having continuous water leaks. Discussed adding this problem area to the engineering study.  Tod brought up that the road to the tank needs cleared again and the area around the tank needs mowed. It was brought up that the electric service ditch needs smoothed over again. Lenny made the motion that we hire Tod to clear the road and mow for an amount not to exceed $125.00. Skip seconded this. All are in favor. Skip made the motion to adjourn at 6:17pm, Tod  seconded this motion. All in favor. Next water meeting is October 1st, 2025 Respectfully submitted, Marrell Cortright District Clerk
