MINUTES OF THE 2025 BUDGET PUBLIC HEARING
October 21, 2025
The Danby Fire District 2026 Budget Hearing was called to order by Commissioner Westmiller at 6:30 pm on October
21, 2025 at the Danby Fire Station.
COMMISSIONERS: OFFICERS:
Katherine Anderson (Absent) Bonnie Hart, Treasurer
Kevin Faehndrich Sharon Gaden, Secretary, Deputy Treasurer
Joe Freedman John Gaden, Danby Fire Chief
Charlotte Griggs Robert McCray, West Danby Fire Chief (Absent)
Wayne Westmiller
PUBLIC: NONE (A sign in sheet was made available)
Pledge of Allegiance
Roll call taken: Present: Commissioner Kevin Faehndrich; Commissioner Joe Freedman; Commissioner Charlotte
Griggs, and Commissioner Wayne Westmiller. Absent: Commissioner Katherine Anderson
Commissioner Westmiller reviewed the requirements of the Public Hearing. The Proposed Budget was adopted by the
Board of Fire Commissioners on August 12, 2025.
Secretary Gaden submitted an Affidavit of Compliance with Town Law Section 181 regarding posting and publishing of
the Notice of Public Hearing.
Treasurer Hart filed the Property Tax Cap Form with the OSC as required on September 16,2025.
Copies of the Proposed 2025 Budget ($611,000.00) were available to the public, prior to and at this Public Hearing.
Commissioner Freedman and Treasurer Hart gave a brief summary of the budget. The tax levy amount for the 2026
Budget is proposed to be $611,000.00
Public comment period: NONE
Commissioner Freedman moved to set the budget adoption date as October 21, 2025, seconded by Commissioner
Faehndrich, and carried with all in favor.
Commissioner Faehndrich moved to close the public hearing, seconded by Commissioner Griggs, and carried with all in
favor.
The Budget Hearing was adjourned at 6:38 p.m.
