Agreement to Spend Town Highway Funds
Laura Shawley clarified where the funding was coming from.
Highway Superintendent Shipman discussed Curtis Road upgrades. He mentioned that
they are going to completely repave Gunderman due to the deterioration of the edges
and drainage of the road . He said that Layen Road will be mostly recycled milling .

AGREEMENT TO SPEND TOWN HIGHWAY FUNDS – REQUEST #1 - 2025
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 284 of the Highway Law, we agree moneys levied and
collected for the repair and improvements of highways, and received from the state for repair
and improvement of highways shall be expended as follows:
General Repairs

1. A sum not to exceed $125,000 .00 shall be spent on Gunderman Road from Rt. 96 B – Comfort
Road. There will be 3.25 inches of cold mix pave applied to the surface. Funding for this
project will come from the CHIPS allotment from New York State.
2. A sum not to exceed $55,000 .00 shall be spent on Layen Road from Jersey Hill Road to Town
Line Road. There will be 3.25 inches of cold mix pave applied to the surface. Funding for
this project will come from the road repair budget line DA5110.400.
3. A sum not to exceed $26,000.00 shall be spent on segments of Curtis Road. One segment on
each end and one in the middle at the top of the hill have been reconstructed and profiled
with drainage. 3.25 inches of cold mix pave will be applied to the surface of these segments.
Funding for this project will come from the road repair budget line DA5110.400.
