Privilege of the Floor
H. Katharine Hunter spoke about how pleased she is with the way people in Danby can speak
with each other despite any differences.
Ted Crane Thanked the current town clerk for making a small change to minutes. He also
specified that he did not use the word “sewer” in his comments at the June 2 nd Town Board
meeting while talking about Hunt Engineers wastewater treatment proposal. Crane explained
that sewers are just pipes and requested the June 2 nd minutes be changed. He also wondered if
“The simply installs proposal for heat pumps. I assume that that $60,000 is being paid for by
some grant, not (local) taxpayer money.” Crane went on to thank all those who attended last
week’s candidate forum, and to make known that the forum was recorded and is on the League
of Women Voters YouTube channel, as well as Facebook.

Leslie Connors spoke about someone at a recent forum who expressed concern about skate park
safety on that side of the road. Connors wanted to make sure that th e Town is thorough in
making sure that the road area around the potential skate park is safe.

1.2. Supervisor Gagnon commented that having people swear to uphold the comprehensive
plan is not possible, even if we think it’s a good idea.
Announcements
H Katharine Hunter Announced that the ribbon cutting for Village Grove, the new housing
complex in Trumansburg, is on June 17 at 1:30 PM.
Reports and Presentations
• County Legislature Rep Dan Klein reports that his most popular concern among
constituents is the effects from the federal government, and his response has been that so far,
it’s just words and no real actions or consequences.
Klein mentioned a lot of turnovers at the county; appointing a new Health Commissioner
and Finance Director in the next few days and Commissioner of Department of Social
Services that will be happening very soon , and then the C ounty Highway Superintendent
later in the summer.
• Laura Shawley reported that the Highway Department is determining how to spend their
allotted funds.
• Introductions of, and questions for Water District Advisory Committee Applicants
Matt Weise from Durfee Hill Rd. introduced himself and spoke about his interest in being on
the WDWD Advisory Committee.
• Fitness Court Potential for Danby
Supervisor Gagnon presented a video and mentioned the total cost is about $200,000.00 .
Discussion ensued. Ga gnon showed a marketing feasibility study. No one from the Board
was enthusiastic about it. The consensus: n ot here, not now.

Appointment Decisions for Water District Committee Members
M Cortright went over the three applicants for the WDWD Advisory C ommittee and announced
that Marge Seeman and she will step down effective immediately, so that two of the most
qualified candidates would be able to be appointed to the WDWD Committee. M Cortright will
stay on as WDWD Clerk.

Identity Threat Detection and Response Proposed Procurement
Stein spoke with his colleagues at his workplace about adding Huntress, the TCNS
recommended security software – an industry standard. Stein detailed how the system worked
and how TCNS would work with Huntress.

Town Hall Accessibility Planning ~ New Option
Planner Hutnik spoke with the engineering firm TG Miller about the opportunity to c ombine the
96B Crosswalk Project with the Town Hall Accessibility Modifications Project. This would
include conducting a needs assessment and feasibility study.
It was agreed that the Town Board would invite TG Miller, P. C. to come to a board meeting and
discuss their thoughts.
