He described the three heat pump quotes received: one from Lamorte; and two from Simply Installs, one for Ecoer Heat Pumps and one for Mitsubishi. He mentioned other contractors were also interested in submitting bids for the heat pumps. Next steps • Submit metrics workbook to NYSERDA with highest quote for heat pump installation with balance to go to EV charger and/or electrical upgrades related to EV charging or heat pump system • Write and put out an RFP for replacing the current heating system • Get additional quotes for EV chargers • Review quotes and select contractor for heat pumps • Balance of grant money used on selected designated items • Installation of new system- town pays contractor • The town submits invoices to NYSERDA for reimbursement Holahan introduced Chris Skawski from Cornell Cooperative Extension Tompkins County (CCETC), who added details of the metrics workbook to be submitted. Skawski explained that if the full grant amount is not used on the designated project, then there is an option to go back to 1 1 P a g e NYSERDA and ask to use leftover funding on EV Charges. He added that if the Town applies for both projects now, we may be required to complete both, no matter the cost. He said it's best to add the EV charges later, if funds allow. He went on to discuss the importance of the Town submitting a letter of Commitment, which is part of the grant application process. Resolution 111 of 2025 To Draft a Letter of Commitment to be Signed by the Town Supervisor, Committing the Town to Using NYSERDA Grant Funds for the Heat Pump Project (Adding EV Charges if Funds are Available).
