Ronda Roaring - Handed out copies of the open meeting laws to everyone present.
She is worried that we are not following them. Our agenda and meeting minutes have
not been posted to the town web site. It was explained to her that we were sending
them to the past town clerks but they were never posted to the website so we stopped
sending them. We will start sending them again and see if they get posted. There is a
notebook with a printed copy of the minutes for the last two years in it and it is at every
meeting for anyone to look back in for information.
Operator Report -
Evelyn Hendricks water was turned back on last month and there was a water leak.
Tod shut it back off and then had to replace the bottom plate that had cracked. Scott
ordered a new chlorinator and a spare chlorinator. There is also an old one just to have
on hand. W2o training will be in November. The Yaws test went out Tuesday morning.
Flushing of the hydrants will happen June 18 & 19.
Our average gallons pumped in May was 18,000 gals
Scott asked about getting vests for him and Shawn to wear when they are out doing
water work. Skip would like to see both operators own a helmet as well. Scott was given
the ok to order something that would fit their needs.
Old Business -
Tompkins Highway has not reimbursed us for the multiple water tests we did during the
culvert replacement project on Station rd. Scott gave Marrell the contact info to follow up
on.
Marrell met with an electrician at the pump house and that panel is perfectly alright to
tap into for an added service of an office. Marrell is working on getting quotes for a
building to house an office. Only one business has returned a price. Leslie asked that
we check into the Ice cream place on Danby Rd that started as a shed. Marrell has an
official opinion from the Code Officer on why that is not a good option for the Water
District. Town Highway Superintendent Keith Shipman met with Scott and Marrell to look
at and walk the building site. He approved placement of the building and the post box
post. Town Highway can handle the site prep.
We need to bill Evelyn Hendricks for the bottom plates.
New Business -
Fire hydrant replacements has been put on the list to be completed with ARPA funds by
the town board. We, the Water district, need to solicit quotes for the work, hydrants,
plumbing and dirt work. Our water operators will head this up.
Peter made the motion to adjourn, Skip seconded this and all were in favor.
Our next meeting will be July 3
Meeting adjourned at 7:09pm
Respectfully Submitted,
Marrell Cortright
