session to discuss the information received regarding a problem at the Highway Department.
ITEMS DISCUSSED AND PLACED ON THE JULY 16 AGENDA
Cancellation of Public Hearing - Proposed Subdivision Local Law - Public Hearing will be
officially canceled by resolution as it was improperly scheduled without Board approval. A date
will possibly be set for the public hearing for August 14. The Board has requested time at the
Board Meeting to discuss the revisions to the subdivision regulations.
Employee Handbook - distributed to the Town Board in April 2007. There has been slight
amendments and it is ready to consider adopting.
West Danby Water District - request from Sean Spencer to allow additional hook-up on his
property. The board has received information to review and will be put on the agenda for
discussion..
Eagle Scout Luke Brower - The Clerk was asked to send him a letter acknowledging his
accomplishments as an Eagle Scout on behalf of the Town.
Aquifer Study - Update - Supervisor Dietrich will give an update on the Aquifer Study for the
Town of Danby.
Endorsement for Housing Strategy for Tompkins County - Resolution for Agenda_.
Recreation Partnership Agreement
A resolution for approval will be on the July Agenda.
NIMS - Resolution of Compliance Requested - for Highway, Town Officials, and Fire District.
By September 30 we must show that we have everyone trained or show that there is a plan that
they will be trained. The Clerk asked the Board to get copies of training certificates for Town
files. The 200 and 300 series tests must be completed.
COUNTY REPRESENTATIVE REPORT
County Representative Frank Proto will be unable to attend the July 15 meeting and gave his
report to the Board tonight as follows:
Recreation Partnership - The County is has been working on the Recreation Partnership since
the end of last year.
IDA - NYS is changing rules for Industrial Development Programs - law of sunset is in June. If
not renewed it will cancel some County projects. The County is requesting that the sunset be
reinstated.
Funding to Universal Fund - Broadband Service - Supervisor Dietrich has asked that funding
to the universal fund be included for broadband service.
Workers Comnensation for Fire Stations - NYS no longer permits townships to pool Workers
Compensation Insurance Policies between Fire Departments and Municipalities. Procedure for
regulation or legislation that permits the pooling for emergency services for Workers
Compensation is suggested.
Fire Department Volunteers - A deduction in Income Tax is being considered to encourage
more volunteers.
Trash Haulers - large trucks hauling industrial waste from New Jersey are using NYS Rte. 79
and NYS Rte. 89 to Seneca (Green?) Meadows. Is another route possible as these roads are
not built to take the beating from these large trucks.
Affordable Housing,- drawbacks to the Affordable Housing Strategy - it is not that we are not
supportive of trying to encourage people to own their own homes, the way it is written it gives an
unfair advantage to a not -for -profit developer.
ADJOURNMENT
On a motion the meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
Carol W. Sczepanski, Town Clerk
