Public Hearing ecla.red Onen Supervisor Dietrich declared the public hearing open at 6:30 p.m. and read the following Notice of Publication: "PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that the Town Board of the Town of Danby will hold a public hearing on Monday, April 9, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. at 1830 Danby Road, Ithaca, New York to Consider Approval of the General Site Plans, and Enactment of a Local Law entitled "A Local Law Amending the Zoning Ordinance of the Town of Danby to Establish Planned Development Zone 19, for "White Hawk Ecovillage". The proposed Zone would be located on the west side of Danby Road on Tax Parcels 7.4-68 and 7.4-69.1; with the project proposed to consist of 30 dwelling units, a common house, and accessory structures. Henry Peterson, property owner/applicant. Residents may view the General Site Plans and the proposed local law at the Town Clerk's office during regular office hours. All persons will be heard in person or in writing. By Order of the Town Board Carol W. Sczepanski, Town Clerk Dated: March 21, 2007 Publish: March 23, 2007" Communications: Tompkins County Planning Department Review Affidavit of Publication' Affidavit of Notice by Mail Letter from Ronda Roaring Susan Beeners explained the Proposed Planned Development Zone to the Public. 2 Public Hearing Minutes White Hawk Planned Development Zone 5 April 9, 2007 Public Comments Richard Oltz - neighbor - asked if the dwellings would meet building codes and if the roads met local Naomi Strichartz - supports the project. Unknown person- how will they be taxed. Richard Oltz - Is the road going to be assessable even though it is not going to be maintained by the Town? If there is a fire there will the fire trucks be able to get up the road? Will the buildings meet building codes or are they exempt from that? Supervisor Dietrich said that everything will be at code and he believes the fire department and highway department has looked at this. Susan Beeners explained the plan details of the roads and turnarounds and described the plan to the public. Ronda Roaring - is concerned that this development will raise taxes go up. She asked the town to request of Whitehawk an economic impact statement. Unknown resident - are we dealing with traditional building or with as opposed to mobile homes? Joel Gagnon - Supports the project. Olivia Vent - Supports the project. Ames Brown - projects like this are unique but should not impact on the land of agriculture.
