The Danby Fire District Brooktondale Contract Public Hearing was called to order by Commissioner Westmiller at 6:45
pm on October 15, 2024, at the Danby Fire Station.

Commissioner Westmiller reviewed the requirements of the Public Hearing. The Brooktondale Contract Public Hearing
notice under Town Law 176(22) was published in the Ithaca Journal on October 5, 2024 with an Affidavit of Publication.
Copies of the proposed contract were available to the public, prior to and at this Public Hearing. The contract is a renewal
of an existing contract with the Brooktondale Fire District for fire, rescue, and emergency medical protection for a portion
of the Town of Danby in an area readily accessible from the fire station of Brooktondale and deemed desirable in the
public interest due to the terrain and accessibility from the fire station of Danby Volunteer Fire Co. The contract is for
four (4) years for the sum of $16,000.00 per year for the years 2025 through 2028 and has been approved by the
Brooktondale Fire District.
The public was asked for comments. There were no comments.
Commissioner Freedman made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Faehndrich, to adopt a resolution to approve the
contract at tonight’s regular meeting. Motion carried with all in favor.
The Brooktondale Contract Hearing adjourned at 6:49 pm.
