HomeMy WebLinkAbout2024-07-03 WDWD Meeting MinutesWest Danby Water Meeting Minutes July 3, 2024 Meeting called to order at 5:02 pm by Ben Coakley Attending: Ben Coakley, Marrell Cortright, Marie Monroe, Shawn Wendt, Scott Wendt, Pat Woodard, Joel Gagnon, Town Code Officer - Steve Cortright Everyone was emailed the June minutes. Corrections were made, motion to accept the corrected minutes made by Marie , seconded by Ben Vouchers - Yaws - monthly water testing - $55.00 Privilege of the floor - None Operator Report - Bill Janvrin was turned back on. Kal McMannus at 436 Brown Rd was turned on also. The bottom freeze plate was replaced at 436 Brown Rd by the water dept because the past owner unhooked the meter and left it in the crawl space under the house. Hydrant flu shing was completed. Pump numbers are good this month with our average daily volume being 14,000gal. Reads were done yesterday and there are a few that need re -read. We will place an order for chlorine. UDig will have to be contacted for the new building b efore excavation can take place. A motion was made to ask Keith Shipman (Town Highway Superintendent) for “No Trespassing Sign” to go at the entrances to the water tower. A Motion to order signs from Highway made by Chairman Ben Coakley, seconded by Marie Monroe, all were in favor. Old Business - Office building was approved Monday night by the Danby Town Board. Once it is paid for it will be finished to code specifications by Nu -Haus. Town Highway will be doing the site work. Tuesday Night (June 11th) Marrell and Ben attended the Danby Fire Commissioner’s Meeting to ask them to reconsider the shared office space usage in the West Danby Fire Station. They affirmed that they are going to go with the advice given to them by their Lawyer and decline the shared space usage. Fire Hydrant Replacement- Town Highway states that they will not be able to assist in the replacement of the fire hydrants. None of their employees are certified or trained to that kind of work. Minteer Construction in Newfield also states that they do not do hydrant repair work. W2O is booked up for the rest of the season and will not be able to commit to the work for this year. New Business - Mariah (Town Of Danby Clerk) has offered to post pictures of our office project to the town website as it progresses.
