MINUTES OF THE 2023 BUDGET PUBLIC HEARING
October 17, 2023
The Danby Fire District 2023 Budget Hearing was called to order by Commissioner Westmiller at 7:04 pm on October
17, 2023 at the Danby Fire Station.

Kevin Faehndrich (absent) Sharon Gaden, Secretary, Deputy Treasurer
Joe Freedman John Gaden, Danby Fire Chief
Charlotte Griggs Robert McCray, West Danby Fire Chief (absent)
Wayne Westmiller
PUBLIC: NONE (A sign in sheet was made available)
Roll call taken: Present: Commissioner Joe Freedman; Commissioner Charlotte Griggs and Commissioner Wayne
Westmiller. Absent: Commissioner Katherine Anderson and Commissioner Kevin Faehndrich
PLEDGE OF THE ALLEGIANCE
Commissioner Westmiller reviewed the requirements of the Public Hearing. The Proposed Budget was adopted by the
Board of Fire Commissioners on September 12, 2023.
Secretary Gaden submitted an Affidavit of Compliance with Town Law Section 181 regarding posting and publishing of
the Notice of Public Hearing.
Treasurer Hart filed the Property Tax Cap Form with the OSC as required.
Copies of the Proposed 2024 Budget ($589,000) were available to the public, prior to and at this Public Hearing.
Treasurer Hart gave a brief summary of the budget.
Public comment period: NONE
Commissioner Freedman moved to set the budget adoption date as October 17, 2023, seconded by Commissioner Griggs,
and carried with all in favor.
Commissioner Griggs moved to close the public hearing, seconded by Commissioner Freedman, and carried with all in
favor.
The Budget Hearing was adjourned at 7:12 p.m.
