JOINT MEETING
TOWN BOARD , PLANNING BOARD , TOWN ATTORNEY
and
SPECIAL MEETING
TOWN BOARD
May 14 , 1968 , Danby Town Hall , 8 : 00 P . M .
Present : Supervisor James H . Cortright , Justice Floyd Dorn ,
Councilman Francis Wright and ' Attorney Richard Thaler .
Councilman Donald Makie arrived 9.: 00 P . M . .,.
Absent : Justice . Moses Peter
Planning Board Members Present : Chairman - Joseph Short , Mrs . Weitzel ,
Wendell. Bryce , Herbert Muzzy .,
Also Present : H . S . Brown , Regional Planning Board and
Danby Zoning Officer Hatfield .
* Supervisor Cortright called the meeting to order for the purpose
of discussing revisions to the zoning ordinance . Mainly , anticipating
rezoning Autosalvage property either industrial or commercial so - they
may build a building for their operation and would like Planning
Board reaction . Cortright stated as far as he knows there has been
no adverse reaction to Autosalvage constructing a building on the
Hornbrook Road site .
Planning Board Chairman Short questioned the existing "junk
yards " of Monroe and Johanson .
Mr . H . S . Brown advised not to rezone the Autosalvage area but
give them a Special Permit . Go back to the basic ordinance and say
that junk yards are allowed under special permit only . Provisions
are in the proposed ordinance of how a special permit is obtained .
Supervisor Cortright advised more study and groundwork needed
by Planning Board . A meeting to be had with Planning Board and
Barthoif which Attorney Thaler will attend to help with wording .
Attorney Thaler advised that the Planning Board take up the
Autosalvage and two brought up by Zoning Officer Hatfield in meeting
with Dick on Section 1001 about Farm Use- -way map is now , there is
no farm use -- should add clause : except any farm buildings not to
include a farm house , and Article IX , Section 901 , add : except that
re -establishment of land for farm use in areas used for farming prior
to the enactment to this ordinance , shall not be effected by this
section . Also to be settled is the square footage of houses . It
was discussed at the February meeting , a 1000 square feet enclosed
floor area . The 701 Plan recommends 600 square footage . After
Planning Board decision on the above , Thaler stated , make the
recommendations to the Town Board in final form , then go to a Public
Hearing which must be done on 10 days ' notice . . Anything which comes

studied , then adopt the • ordinance .
Mr . H . S . Brown questioned whether a zoning ordinance may
specify the square footage of a house . Attorney Thaler will check

payment table for the water district
Attorney Thaler presented the followingresolutuion to the .
Town Board :
RESOLUTION- jr 10 AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING A WATER -SYSTEM LOAN
AGREEMENT AND A WATER SYSTEM GRANT AGREEMENT .
The original resolution will be attached to these minutes in the
minute book . '

A Sepcial Meeting of the Town Board , Town of Danby was
held at the Town Hall , Tuesday , May 14 , 1968 at 10 : 00 P . M .
Present : Supervisor James H , Cortright
Town Justice Floyd Dorn and Donald Makie
Councilman A . Francis Wright
Attorney Richard Thaler •
Absent : Town Justice Moses Peter
Supervisor Cortright called the meeting to order .
Councilman Makie moved to waive € he ' three - day notice of
a special meeting . Seconded by Justice Dorn . 4 ayes , 0 noes ,
carried .
Attorney Richard Thaler reported that he had given the
Supervisor a copy of the mortgage payment table for the
West Danby Water District .
Attorney Thaler present the following resolution to the
Town Board :
RESOLUTION # 10 AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING A WATER , SYSTEM
LOAN AGREEMENT AND A WATER SYSTEM GRANT
AGREEMENT .
